Live Action Movie of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Confirmed

Novel author Hirasaka Yomi has announced on his official website that a live action film project of light novel Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai has been underway. Information of the project has been leaked by a recruitment ad for the extras of the film. He said the premature leak of the project was quite uncool and regretted a little about the decision about the film he made two years ago. However, he has been worrying about the future of the light novel market and expected that the live action film would bring new fans to the industry. He has been aware that many of Haganai fans object to the live action film, and he asked them "Please ignore what you don't like instead of attempting to disrupt it."

i think the main reason there is a live action movie in the first place is too keep up the hype on the series while the author rights more of the LN so they can make a third season there is just not enough material to adapt more for now and i think that's why the auther gave them a go ahead even tough he wasn't initially aware of it

^ The most eye-catching bit of the news is Otani Mio is a full-fledged otaku. Long before this announcement (I think it was one year ago) she wrote in her blog that she is a big fan of Haganai (yes, harem has female fans too) and her most favorite character is Sena !!! Just imagine how excited and overjoyed she is now that she actually becomes Sena herself !!!

Anyway, I remember her taste is even pretty close to a male otaku -- moe girls are her favorites and that ranges from K-On to Monogatari, Hyouka, MayoChiki to Inu x Boku SS, Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon (and of course Haganai).

Anyway, here is the official movie website. So far it has only the comments of the 3 main cast and the director...

I kind of like Kitano Kii (as Yozora) so it counts as a plus. Somehow we do not get to hear who will be Niku..

Besides this is going to be an original story. Better treat this as an inspired movie instead of an adaptation in terms of expectation.

There is actually no way ever this is gonna fly. You just can't recreate this stuff in live action, it doesn't even make sense.

How can you expct anything?

Yukimura's role was a girl that was suppose to be a guy that looks like a girl, there is no way they could perfectly replicate that

She is even taller than the mc, dafuq

Yozora is easy, just get a cute japanese girl to do it

And Kobato, no real girl would look like her age and still be so moe, least of all a blond hair blue eyes girl

Same with Sena, they needed cute white girls as actresses, which would have been nearly impossible forits budget
