Second Season of Senki Zesshou Symphogear Due in July

my advice to you, don't take the show seriously, just enjoy the music and action, cuz if you do the anime will be toture no joke!!!!!!!!! (some people have actually used that word in their posts)

The VA cast for the enemy has been announced:

Kayano Ai
Hikasa Youko
Nanjou Yoshino

Since they have sung songs in anime (Nanjou is even in fripSide), I expect them to hold singing duels with Yuuki Aoi, Mizuki Nana and Takagaki Ayahi LOL LOL

The character design for the 2nd season is out. IMO it looks definitely better than the 1st season.

I'm still not finished watching first season (I'm stuck at episode 4) because of a few unavoidable reasons.

But it sounds really great for this anime to have a second season. I hope at least it would turn out better than the first season.

Well I will admit, it was more rhetorical than anything else . . . but I DO wish some of my other fav anime's could get another season . . . :(

Alright, I watched the first season . . . and I completed it. I will admit, the only reason I watched it all the way through was because the series started out with the main character being dead, and her friend visiting her in the grave yard. And I will admit, that I was pissed with the "swan songs" being the songs of death, but then as the series progressed all of a sudden they could sing the songs more than once without dying. And I was also ticked with the ending, because just when you think the "swan songs" finally worked the way they were supposed to and the characters were dead, saving the world in the process, no!!! They were still alive . . .

However, I will also admit . . . I was hoping for a second season, because despite all the problems that I had with the season, including a bunch I didn't mention, I kind of sort of liked it. Though what I probably liked was the idea of them singing epically while in battle. I mean seriously, not only was it good, but they were singing while in battle. Plus, rampaging Hibiki was pretty cool, including the idea of her symphogear being embedded in her from the accident at the concert.

Although, seriously guys, if you're gonna flame this series, then what the heck was the point in showing up here in the first place? I mean, there are actually people who full heartedly enjoyed the series, and if you're too busy being a dickwad, the rest of us would prefer it if you did it on your own time and to yourselves. Because those who do want to see a second season don't really want to read about how much you hated the first season, and how much it sucked, and how dumb it is that there'll be a second season. Obviously enough people enjoyed it for another season, so suck it up and move on, no one said anything about you having to watch season two.

Oh yeah, and one last thing . . . why the hell does this show get a second season, but they won't make another season of Ghost Hunt or maybe a better sequel to Aquarion than Aquarion Evol . . . I mean, seriously, there are so many good anime series out there(none that I can think of off the top of my head) that could totally use another season! But still, there's nothing wrong with this show getting a season two . . .

Back on topic, the first season was definitely a massive guilty pleasure. The music and the fights were pretty amazing stuff. The drama and story was also equally comparable to the highly-acclaimed* Kotoura-san. I hope the second season will be even better!
