Shoujo Manga 'Chokotan!' To Be Animated

According to Comic Natalie, Takeuchi Kozue's manga "Chokotan!" was announced to get an anime adaptation. It will be shown at Ribon Festa 2013 to be held next spring. Kugimiya Rie will voice Chokokan.

Congrats to it's fans, but is it just me or is a lot of unknown anime to us doing too well in Japan? Well, doing well enough to get anime over a couple of others that I feel deserve more. Anyways, probably not gonna watch, but who knows. I might give it a try if the reviews are good.

Shoujo manga have been getting short adaptations as an advertisement forever. How successful is this practice? You have your answer right here: it can reach some foreigners on the internet who are not even in the target age group and have never heard of the manga.

As a person who is a big shoujo reader, I have never heard of this manga in my life xDDD

I sometimes facepalm at seeing just unpopular mangas getting adaptations x.x
