New Sailor Moon Anime Due in Summer 2013

According to Comic Natalie, a new Sailor Moon was announced at Japan Expo 2012 being held in Paris. The new anime is planned to be released in the summer of 2013. Momoiro Clover Z will sing the theme song for the anime.

I doubt Pretty Cure has anything to do with it. I wouldn't expect this to be a daytime show anyway so I don't think there is really an overlap there.

I don't really see the connection. Toei could do both pretty easily, and it's not like Precure is anything new and unexpected that threw the schedule off track. Precure is what, a decade old?

I'm sure it's something completely unrelated.

If that's the case, there's still some serious executive meddling going on, sounds like they are either trying to tone down the series a bit, not sure the fanbase will like that one bit, or there's negotiations with the original cast that are still in the voice acting business.

Yes, I do. And do you know where MAL and ANN get their information? From Japan and there haven't been any updates in quite a while so most people are now saying it probably won't be on in summer. But those people could be wrong too...

Just wondered if you'd seen announcements rather than pages posted months ago... it was announced last July. There were 5 announcements at that time and since then... nothing...

Unless the remake is airing exclusively on TV Asahi, I don't know how that would push it back. As of right now it's scheduled for July and I haven't seen anything yet saying otherwise.

This is why you generally shouldn't make exact release dates when you first announce something far in advance. These types of deals almost always seem to be delayed (or cancelled like Savanna Game)

Well, not "officially" cancelled, but its novels website hasn't even been updated since July last year and we haven't heard anything about the anime since early last year. I think its safe to say its been canned, especially since they originally announced it as a Winter 2013 anime and we haven't heard anything since it passed that airing frame.
