Thanks Maglobe for creating this ugly mess. You just ruined the Hayate no Gotoku franchise in the anime department for me and many more. Congrats!

Dropping this crap after 4th episode. After they defiled Hina-chan on the previous episode, I couldn't go on any longer.

+1, cannot say this better.

Well, Hinagiku is already irritating, making her slightly uglier doesn't ruin anything for me. And I have no clue what problem you people have with the designs anyway, I stomach them okay.

And while I do agree this anime was worse than others (although I still remember the first season as a bad one, probably all the stupid anime-originals and being much less colorful compared to s2), but Can't Take My Eyes Off You tuned out pretty well story-wise, IMO. Sure, it starts kicking in the last third, only dropping a few hints before that, but Hata managed to make the story interesting and I think any Hayate no Gotoku fan should watch the series beginning to end, there are some revelations about the characters, particularly Nagi's parents.

Also, they finally animated the "Who's Paying" piece, I've been waiting to see animated for years. Sure, they made some changes, but I don't care, one of the funniest HnG yet for me.

If you'd notice, the latest chapter's designs are like that too... maybe it was originally the intended design? But J.C Staff just made it look better...

What I noticed, and it seems quite many fans in Japan also agree, is that the latest design may look a bit odd on manga, but when it gets animated it looks damn jarring. I also wonder whether those random bits that are not connected to the main story at all are the author's idea -- it also looks jarring and it misses more than hits (even though I am quite used to Japanese humor).

Just take a look at the comparion of Hinagiku of season 1, 2 and 3...

I don't know why they made the new Hayate season like this. I wonder what they were thinking...really. The character design really pushes the limit of me. I watch this season because I love Hayate no Gotoku, but with this.... plus the humor seems to have turned harsher and the many very weird intermissions do not help...The new character is a turn-off for me so far...sakuga turned worse; pacing turned worse... I think I am on the verge of dropping it too..

Really strange that apparently the author seems to be actively involving in this new season... How come it becomes like this??

It's funny how people think this is a true Season 3, it isn't.

Great....more comedy.

I thought the first season was great from episodes 1-26 and afterwards it felt like a chore. The second season is my favorite but I feel as if more people like the first season best.
It's generally hard to tell which show people like more, because some people are simply louder than others, but I share your impression.

I think my biggest problem with season 1 was that they did a lot of references to shows I had never seen, which made a lot of stuff appear just random and pointless to me and awesome to others. Plus with all the references and parodies there wasn't enough time for a serious plot that would make me care about what happened.

Considering that season 2 was apparently closer to the manga and the manga's creator is directly involved in this one I suspect that season 2 fans might be the luckier ones. Either way, it looks like the creator's ideas are good enough to shine through any kind of production ^^

Indeed. That's how life is and what a show usually requires to be rated 'masterpiece' by me (which didn't happen with HnG yet, but I must've had my reasons).

Exactly my thoughts :D

A cool ride? For sure! haha

Each season has its strong and weak points. Season 1 had more comedy, more action and also went all out with the parody aspect, but lost many points by steering away from the original story too much after ep. 26.
Season 2 was somewhat the opposite. More serious, fewer parodies, focusing more on the characters and plot development. It also has the "issue" of Hina being featured prominently.

That is a drastic change. I can see why some people like season 1 more and others even "hate" season 2. It all comes down to personal preference.

What I really like about HnG is the way the story always seem to change from happy-go-lucky comedy to some serious plot from time to time. Reflects how life actually is, I think.

Let's hope "CTMEOF" will be even better! :P
Probably it will be a cross between seasons 1 and 2, so chances are that a lot of people will like it!

I feel the same, the first half of the first season was great but when it started to go with the original story I didn't find it as interesting, then the second season was just amazing.

Wow, I didn't see that coming. One of my earliest favorites rises yet again :-D

So I'll just take things as they come and be on the optimist team :-)

I really don't know how I feel about this. I loved the first season but the second season was just awful. I have cautious optimism for this

New Hayate commericial. Chiharu is shown. Just two more weeks until airing.

Funny that how they took the title based on the songs that I love (Even the movie title itself based on a song by Berlinda Carlisle)

It's disappointing that we can't see EoTW arc (Athena's arc), but then if the original story is from Hata Kenjiro, I'm okay. I'm looking forward to this. :)

Btw if anyone's in Facebook, there's a fanpage :

First impression: Nice! :)

Can't wait!

"Wait... where's Hina?"
Please, ignore that comment. I'm just thinking it out loud.

My guess is that she won't have as much screentime as she did on Season 2. I personally don't think it's a "bad" thing. What matters is quality, after all. :) (rejoice, haters!) (Just kidding. I have nothing against "not liking a certain character". I respect that. I myself wasn't very fond of Nagi, until recently)

But then again, what happened is that season 2 was mostly to show Hinagiku-san developing her feelings. I don't think she had that much "screentime" ever since, even on the manga. We can even consider it as whole arc, so to speak.

Anyway, excited to see Hayate, Nagi and co. animated again! =)

Could this be another addition to Hayate's harem? lol
