The procurator of anime production studio Trans Arts has announced that the studio has ceased business due to insolvency. The process for the bankruptcy will be carried out soon. Trans Arts was founded in 1967 and had been producing anime mainly as the subcontractor of Production I.G. From 2001 - 2005, Trans Arts produced Prince of Tennis in cooperation with I.G. Last year, they have participated in the production of Mirai Nikki, Persona 4 The Animation and Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.

Noooo...! To think that that was where POT was produced...I feel sad..! And they've been around for so long too..

RIP Trans Arts

Just read this thread today. This sums up how I feel. PoT was one of my all-time favourites.

As a production house, nothing was lost. They never made anything really outstanding by themselves. Hope that P.IG won't be affected to much by this.

Strange. Most of last titles in their least were successful enough. Why so?

Titles they've assisted on with the animation, not titles they produced themselves. The latest work they're listed for as Animation Producer is Loups=Garous, and that proved to be a major bomb.

It's just a shame they didn't get to participate in the production of Shin Tennis no Oujisama to get them back into shape (considering it's not selling too badly, though I don't think they've ever ended up on the production committee themselves so this might not actually matter) - I guess they've been in a disastrous state for a while and couldn't get the work force to do so anymore.

but i love Loups=Garous

Sad to see them go, especially since they've been around for so long.
It seems like there could be so much potential for future series this studio might have animated, but now won't get the opportunity.

The heading is a bit misleading. Should say "original" Prince of Tennis. Because the current studio is NAS. I was worried there a bit because of that. For the record, I'm not a particular fan of PoT, but am of NAS.
