Noitamina's New Original Anime Project 'Tsuritama' Announced

Aniplex launched a teaser website of Nakamura, Kenji's original anime project "Tsuritama" on January 7th. It will be aired in the Noitamina block. The details of the anime will be announced on February 2nd.

The script shown on the website indicates there are three characters; Haru, Yuki and Kate.

Haru suddenly appeared in front of me. "Yuki, let's save the earth together!" "Save the earth? What do you mean?" Little did I think we would really wind up with saving the earth.

I'm going to consider if I'm going to watch it when more info. comes out on February 2, 2012.

I'Ve started to like them LESS since [C], but whatever works for you. Their series are still better than the vast majority, even when they suck.

Actually, the katakana says 'Keito', which is a valid Japanese first name. So it could well be three boys.

In addition, based on the scraps of text on the website, at least one of the cast uses 'ore', and another uses 'boku'...

the author of mononoke doing new anime series? FYESSSSSS.

Hopefully it will also have an original art style like his bakeneko run in ayakashi japanese horror and his mononoke series.

I randomly typed "tsuritama" into a translator and got "fishing egg", hmm...

Though so many people are damn quick to dismiss a show we know virtually nothing about except for the main overarching plot.

That synopsis is short, sweet, and mysterious enough to get my attention. I've got my hopes up already. I'm willing to bet the cast won't be all female.

Will certainly watch. More unique visual presentation is very welcome.

I hope Nakamura's going to write and direct this with a competent staff and studio. :)

I am actually very okay with this. noitaminA seems like they're trying to go back to their roots since the shounen and scifi stuff weren't working for them. In the upcoming spring season, we will have this show, which is bound to be pretentious and artsy. It's most likely going to be a hit-or-miss show, but it has a lot of potential.

The other show airing during spring seems to be Sakamichi no Apollon. From what I read, this is a Josei slice of life series with a bit of romance. When you're in this genre, you can't go wrong with noitaminA.
