But were the previous volumes of G4U also bundled with BD's?
Vol. 1 was bundled with the full PS3 port + artbox + G4U v1 + extras. Vols. 2+ are each bundled with an additional G4U.

Those iDOLM@STER CD's sell better than the BD's, obviously due to too high prices.
While certainly one can expect CDs to sell more than BDs, it's not quite that simple in this case. Some large portion of Idolmaster's sales went into the Gravure For You (G4U) bundles which aren't counted by Oricon. For Vol. 3, that sold 18,992. We don't know what portion of those people only bought it for G4U instead of the BD, but if it's 100%, then Idolmaster Vol. 3 sold 25,438. If it's much lower, say, half, then it sold 15,942. Either way, more than 13k.
What? You can't buy G4U alone; if you buy the G4U pack you're buying the anime and G4U; Idolm@ster Vol. 3 sold 25,438 copies. There are no "what ifs"; plain and simple: 25,438 copies is what it sold.
Yeah, you gotta count it 100% of the sales. Nobody is going to pay 100 dollars or whatever it is simply to take pictures of the girls. Its a BD sale with some extras.

So I don't understand why its not fair to count 100% G4U success is due to anime.
If that's the case, its not fair to the Persona 4 anime too, because the same "meh its maybe just the game fanboy that buy it, they not even watching it" reason.

damn can't believe how low Shana, Mirai Nikki and Chihayafuru are selling.
I never expected much out of Mirai Nikki or Chihayafuru... those aren't the types of shows the Otaku typically buy up.
Shana I'm surprised about, though. It went from like 8-10k its first 2 seasons to less than 3. What a drop.

Are the TWGOK BD's finally finished? My god... that took long.
Bakemonogatari probably has high sales due to people wanting to rewatch it before watching Nisemonogatari.

Adding that to regular edition numbers make the sales is kinda monstrous.

Damn look at that gap between Working and Tamayura ;__;.
Damn Shana and Mirai Nikki...I thought those were favorites in Japan. Kinda glad Tamayura came out top on the low end of the tier, even if those sales means it barely recuperated production costs.
*sigh* Making anime sounds so futile as a business...
but since Tamayura started to sell in December and Working I think a bit earlier... I can't say it's a bad result :)
there is still hope for humanity :]
