Da Vinci Magazine's Best Manga Author of the Year 2011

According to Ameba News, monthly book review magazine Da Vinci has announced Book of the Year 2011. The rankings were based on the polls of 4986 people, who are composed of book reviewers, bookstore keepers, and the readers of the magazine. Oda Eiichiro and Umino Chika have won the top spots in the best manga author rankings by large margins.

Honestly, i don't think Viz wil ever "grab" Kochikame, i'm still hopeful that some spanish company will license the manga, since there the anime is relatively known.
Besides Japan, the manga was only released in Taiwan.

While I agree Ouran is a great manga and I enjoyed reading it a lot, I don't quite remember it ending

This is a surprisingly solid list. The top 6 in the male category are all absolutely excellent mangaka.

There are quite a few in the female category that I don't know, but everyone I recognise is wonderful.

WOOOH HOO atlot of ones i like...,im sad that none of clamp,s series made it on thhe Manga though,Also i think Ouran should had been Added!!!!! it ended like FMA and its not even on there !?(btw im a BIG FMA fan)

Once i saw "readers of the magazine", I stopped believing on the list. ;~;

I'd agree with Umino, but Oda? One Piece just seems more biased because of it's large popularity.

I'm just happy seeing Inio Asano on the list. Having Hiromu Arakawa and Naoki Urasawa on there is nice too, as well as Kuragehime's mangaka.
