Urobuchi Gen Mentions Next Development of Madoka Magica

In the staff commentary of Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Blu-ray vol.6, Urobuchi Gen has announced that he is working on the next work of madoka.

Urobuchi: It's been quite short since I began to work in the anime industry, but I was fortunate that the producers of Madoka let me do in my own way. In order to show my gratitude to the staff, I'm struggling to work out ideas of the next "thing". I think I can announce it someday.
Yuki Aoi: Second season? Second season?
Urobuchi: I'm twisting my brain now.
Yuki Aoi: There could be a parallel world or a different ending?
Urobuchi: Possible. We won't let Madoka go.

I don't think I wouldn't enjoy it the same.

A spinoff or something that will explain more about Madoka would be good.

I'd like to see what happens after the witches with their new enemies. Maybe as like an OVA or something not a full series. But if its like new characters with Madoka as goddess(like she became at the end) then I would like it.

As somebody before me said, this is in the planning phases. That means it could be a VERY long time before it comes out, and why not? You can't rush greatness. (If you do, there's a good chance of suck.)
So, two, three, four, fivesixseveneight more years? You really shouldn't expect anything right now.

As much as I want more Madoka, I think an actual second season might turn out really cliche. On the other hand, a spin off or alternate universe might be nice to see.

Perhaps this is the chance to give the extended back story of Homura. Urobuchi scripted that episode to be almost an hour long but he was forced to cut it down to 25 minutes.
