Novel author Akamatsu Chugaku posted in his twitter that the realization of the second season of Hidan no Aria depended on the Blu-ray and DVD sales. He said the producers have been checking the sales closely but the current sales were far below the required amount.

Director Miyamoto Yukihiro posted in his twitter that they have reached close to the second season of Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.

ref. the Blu-ray + DVD sales of the first volume
Hidan no Aria: 6,356 copies (one episode, 4,200 yen)
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko: 6,628 copies (two episodes, 7,350 yen)

Im not gonna lie that Hidan no Aria that a great anime or anything, but it was a fine watch and was kinda hoping to see the second season. Plus I got a few lol's from watching the MC go into "Hysteria Mode" when his face got hammered into some bewbs.

Would buying the FUNI DVD/BD release help for the making of a new season?

Not really, no. It wouldn't specifically hurt of course, but it's such an infinitesimal sum for the original production committee that it couldn't change a decision they've made based on domestic sales performance being below expectations.

well I know that just me buying wouldnt help much, I meant that if buying the FUNI release would give money to the makers in Japan.

Oh, a second season of Denpa Onna. That would be nice.

As the first post said, it was the decision of the anime production that the sales was not sufficient for a 2nd season. It is more because of the expectation being set too high, NOT because the series did not sell well. An sales average of over 5000 is generally considered good enough for a 2nd season.

Would buying the FUNI DVD/BD release help for the making of a new season? Whether it will or not I already pre-ordered mine(my first anime owned, im somehow excited)

I really honestly don't think it was a bad show at all. Just something to watch lightly while ur downloading anime or sth. (that's what I did)...
Or maybe it's cuz I had no expectations from this one at all...anyhow, I would really like a season 2, cuz the last episode ended with quite a few questions unanswered.

I guess everyone has there own view on this anime. Hell i liked this anime i think this could turn into something great.
I heard what it turns into is a just a really generic harem, like no joke i read some of the synopsis's of later volumes and i swear to god evne the fucking emotionless chick and the riko chick have the hots for the main and they just kinda do comedy over that premise for voumes at a time

Im not a very picky viewer, I love most anime I see, but Aria is one of the ones i really, really liked, but it needs to cover more, Im gonna have to re-watch as my memory is very short term so I forget a lot of anime moments, but I do know I want a new season with more Kinji and Aria.

The haters always hear when an "average" show is being discussed.

NOTE: "" are there so you know I'm not being serious, thank you for your understanding, here's an Internet.

This is part of a cool scene from early in the series, it actually had a few memorable/funny parts but this show is totally average at best.

watch it fast, the pain will go away quick. XD
to be fair at least the MC was pretty awesome, and the villain's laugh was historically bad, it at least helps the show not be entirely unwatchable.
Yeah, I'll remember this laugh forever. Nightmares will keep the memory clear.
