According to the twitter of the music producer James Shimoji, composer Kanno Yoko has uploaded her original song for the victims of the massive earthquake which hit the northeastern part of Japan. Kanno's hometown is Miyagi, which is the closest prefecture to the epicenter of the earthquake and was heavily devastated by the tsunami.

Anime song singer Sato Hiromi has been looking for her father, who was in Otsuchi, Iwate when the earthquake and the tsunami hit. More than 10,000 residents in Otsuchi including the town mayor have been unaccounted for.

Anime director Daichi Akitaro said 60 of his friends in Iwate have been missing.

Mangaka Inoue Takehiko has been drawing his illustrations of smiles and uploading them onto his twitter. Animator Sushio has also been posting his illustrations of Gurren Lagann characters on his twitter.

(eyes water as song touches heart)
I'm so happy that one of my favorite composers did her part.
All I can do is just keep the people of Japan in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad that she is still alive and the song is pretty touching. My sympathy goes out to everyone in Japan and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them trying to survive this disaster they are dealing with.

It really is such a horrible tragedy... Hopefully Japan will be able to get back on its feet soon and find the people that are missing
