ufotable To Animate Horror Manga 'Gyo'

According to Big Comic Spirits, Ito Junji's horror manga Gyo was announced to get an OVA adaptation. The production studio is ufotable.

ufotable will also announce their original anime at Anime Contents Expo.

I've just read it and I don't care what happens to this manga, so definitely not watching it.

Though I wonder if they're going to animate the Enigma of Amigara Fault. Creepiness factor in that short story was off the roof compared to the actual story. Yay, last page of horror mangas!

Any new info on this? i think i read somewhere that it will be 3 episodes long, not certain if that is true...

Why is it that so much people is agreeing that 2007 is one of the best years for anime? I must be missing the obvious here, but I can't understand why is that year so special. Not even to the topic in question since as far as I remember, 2007 wasn't specially known as a year where horror anime was abundant or something like that.

Not because 2007 has many good horror anime or something like that. He's talking about 2007 anime in general. There are many anime that considered good and popular in that year. Maybe not everyone agree, but many people seems to agree with it.

I was asking because I was wondering what made the year 2007 so special as to call it one of the "best years for anime." That statement would had made perfect sense in this topic if for example another anime adaptation of Junji Ito was made in that year but that wasn't the case since all the adaptations of Junji Ito's work have been live-action movies. I was just curious as to why you were calling the year 2007 'one of the best' for anime.
