Both are horror series dealing with the worst case scenario effects of inhuman and monstrous phenomena encroaching on human territory. Different plots, same 'defenseless humans versus monsters and disease' deal, with a similar creepy ambiance to boot.

The setting of a group of children which are thrown in to a dire situation and forced to fend for themselves in a harsh new environment is similar as is the themes centered around school and comradeship.

They both have apocaliptic settings and a world mostly completly covered in darkness.

They are both about a group of people within a building/area suddenly transported to another world.

The plot in both horror/thriller series are almost identical: - There's a sudden earthquake that shook the city and the characters find themselves stranded in a dark and post-apocalyptic future. - They all attempt to find out the mystery while trying to survive. - They also encounter weird and terrifying monsters.

Both series follow a group of children who finds themselves in an unknown, alien-like world and must adapt to survive its dangers. This is not the main premise of Neverland as it is for Hyouryuu Kyoushitsu/Drifting Classroom but rather it describes one part of it after a certain point. Moreover, in Neverland the group is tight-knit, while in Drifting Classroom they are not and that is another aspect that impedes their survival.

Both are apocalyptic stories. While Igai is about zombies and Drifting Classroom is about being trapped in a wasteland, there are some aspects of both stories that are quite similar. Both stories are set on a school campus. There is political turmoil among the survivors as they try to navigate this new situation they find themselves in. There is a ton of graphic violence and death.

The "Other world" in these are very similar, and so is the way the "Other world" reacts with the real world.

Both are about a group of people being 'brought' to post-apocalyptic future. In Drifting Classroom, they got transported to the future. In 7seeds, they're put into cold sleep and released in unknown number of years later. In Drifting Classroom, the earth is like a desert wasteland, no fruits/plant/animal that they could eat, no sea/ocean. While in 7seeds, the earth is still changing, some living things like plants evolved, so there're still edible food that they can find, and there're sea/ocean.

Both manga are from the 1970s and feature violence, blood, and gore. Both titles share a similar tone and vibe. Both Devilman and The Drifting Classroom have the main protagonist fighting creatures and attempting to survive in their surroundings. If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

Both Sci-Fi/Horror mangas are done by the same author and are filled with ridiculous plot twists one after another.

In both mangas a group of people experience a catastrophe and end up in an more or less isolated environment... then starts the game of survival.

Both series are about a group of people in a post-apocalyptic near-future setting trying to find out how much time has passed since the present as they know it and what exactly has happened to change the world so drastically and frighteningly while fighting for survival -- against the monsters that want to make a meal out of them, and sometimes against each other.

both about kids being transported to a post-apocalyptic future and fighting for their survival against mutants and monsters and how they can influence the past to change the future, but Drifting Classroom is much more realistic compared to Psyren.
