like the other reviewer said, "sangatsu will become an ore-sama" 's title may lead you to believe that it's a shoujo manga. however, it very much is not. if i had to describe it, it's more of a loving parody of shoujo manga (and shounen romance).

this manga involves a girl named sangatsu, whose goal is to woo a klutzy and airheaded guy. unfortunately for her, she's incredibly awkward and freezes up whenever she has to talk to him. she then decides to talk to the resident playboy, nanami, for advice on courting her crush. he gives her coaching on how to imitate the "ore-sama" archetype ... of guys seen in shoujo (basically domineering, suave, and confident). of course, she's not used to acting like that, so hilarity almost always ensues. it's simultaneously poking fun at shounen romcoms and the "typical" shojo story, which makes it surprisingly fresh. there are a lot of moments where they lean on the 4th wall a bit while making fun of various romantic tropes seen in manga, which was pretty fun. (i kinda wished they had spent more time doing that)

the main characters are surprisingly fun. there's the aforementioned sangatsu and nanami, and their respective friends nodoka and yurine. they're polar opposites of each other, so their interactions make for great comedy. some pretty funny side characters also get introduced, and they manage to liven up the manga even more. this is a lot shorter than my usual reviews, but i don't think there's that much to say. i wish it had gone a bit longer, but axe-chan takes many before their time. all in all, it's a nice little manga that provides a lot of amusement in its meager 26 chapters. i'd recommend it to anyone who'd like to kill an hour or so.

I can't believe that there is no review for this manga yet. I only read 4 chapters so far (well, actually only 4 chapters have been scanlated when this review is written) but this manga is so funny! I almost miss the chance of reading this manga because I initially thought it was a shoujo manga, but the art is very clear and clean (it doesn't adopt the shoujo-manga-esque-super- big - eye sketches type). I'm glad I gave this manga a try because it is hilarious!

The main character, Sangatsu Sumire is downright naive and pure. Even when the love-teacher Nanami pulls his killer ... moves on her, instead of having a heart-thumping moment and blush like a normal girl, she doesn't falter and naively admiring her master's confidence and ability to pull such moves. She even attempts to do it to her crush and oftentime ended in failing hilariously.

The story so far is great and because it is still new, the manga only show a purely platonic, master-student relationship between Sangatsu and Nanami. There is also Sangatsu's protective friend introduced in the latest chapter, but not much can be said since the character is very new.

Overall, this is a great manga. The art is clean, the storyline is progressing good so far and each character is developing slowly and steadily at their own pace without the need to forcefully shove romantic storyline between the main character. It somehow gives HoriMiya kind-of vibe when I'm reading this, so I love this manga.

For god sakes, why such a half baked abrupt ending?! I really really wanted to see all couples admit their love for one another and just kiss like wtf author, why did you have to do this to us?! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I honestly thought the jokes were on point especially taking the p!ss of the usual tropes you normally see in romance manga out there. I’m so annoyed that it’s only at 25 chapters like Bruh, you can still make a good 50 chapter story and do a lot better than 25 chapters!

I like the fact each characters have such unique personalities such as the playboy, ... the over the top girl, the gloomy guy, the smart girl, the hot headed girl you name it. You’ll never be bored with each character and I say this as someone who doesn’t like too many additional characters without context within a story.

I do have to give props to author-san for the art as they did such a good job at making us laugh with the amount of silly expressions they put on the characters.

If you like a manga that takes the mick out of highschool romance tropes, I highly recommend this but again it’s too short unfortunately so that’s why I had to rate it lower in this case….
