A very solid two-volume shoujo story, about an alien prince who tries to get a girl with incredibly bad luck to fall for him.

Story (7): At its heart, this is a variant of the typical "popular boy falls for loner girl" shoujo story (see: High School Debut, I Am Here, Kimi ni Todoke, Say I Love You, etc.). That being said, the whole bit with her being a bad-luck magnet is both a consistent source of humor, and a plot device to move things along in an interesting direction. Add in the fact that most of the people trying to break them ... apart are aliens with super-powers, and the trope feels quite fresh.

Art (8): The art is really quite good. It's still recognizably shoujo, but there is enough individual variation to make it interesting. Moreover, the character designs are well done and unique, and some of the backgrounds look quite good.

Character (9): The prince is a bit of a jerk at times, and his falling in love happens too fast. But the girl is spot-on. She's a great shoujo heroine: kind and upbeat, but she keeps people at a distance for their own safety (because things are constantly falling on top of her, often hitting those around her as well). She falls in love in a such a genuine and believable way, and I was rooting for her from the first page to the last.

Enjoyment (8): Other than a few moments when the prince comes across as too overbearing, and a bit of awkwardness with an alien princess who chases after him, I enjoyed Meteor Prince from start to finish.

Overall (8): Shoujo done right. It could have used a bit more time to flesh out some of the side characters and to set up the ending a bit better. But all-in-all, if you like shoujo romances, this is one you should check out.

I was already taken into this series by the art style because it had such a colourful and bright atmosphere to it and I was right. The story is kinda fast paced at the beginning but I got used to it since the character interaction become quite deep and meaningful, even if it was quick to turn in one direction it made a lot of sense for this story in particular.

The art you might find typical of the shoujo genre with cute character designs that literally jump from the page into your memory. Believe me when I say there is seriously a lot of ... jumping going on in this series, mainly to save characters from dying though.

Speaking of characters might I say that Hako is basically me everyday trying to take lifu on. She is a klutz through and through , but there is a reason why she is like this and it may tug a few heart strings. She one day dreams of meeting her very own prince, but neither she or I expected her *ahem* prince to be an alien and so blunt about wanting to have babies with her.

I honestly didn't expect to love this series as much as I did the reason being that everything about it was so entertaining and fascinating to read. I would recommend this series if you enjoy a funny, light hearted romantic storyline with an magical twist.
