Synopsis

The government has been conducting experiments to genetically engineer a human. Its first creation is a girl named Rizel, and the experiment is a success—sort of.

While healthy and cheerful, 12-year-old Rizel also possesses the uncanny need for love to further her development. Saddened by this emptiness in her life, she sheds tears that can end up destroying a city block.

So what's a girl to do ... except get married! Enter Iwaki Tomonori, your average 15-year-old boy. His world is turned upside-down the day he arrives home to find that the government has just announced that he's a married man!

Oof...What to say about Rizelmine?
Somehow it's a rather stereotypical story for the early 2000's... A cute little girl is deeply in love with another guy but he's not interested and rather annoyed by her extreme attachement. Comedy ensues! Or that's..what it was supposed to be...and yet Rizelmine just comes off as a little...off.

The art is your typical moe-blob manga. Yukiru Sugisaki's art is great but especially during more hectic scenes difficult to understand what is going on.

Since the main focus here is comedy the characters are rather flat while also being over the top.

The forced marriage between two minors just leaves a strange taste ...

Spoiler
This is quite possibly Yukiru Sugisaki's worst manga she's ever made. It was pretty embarrassing to read. I’m not really sure why this manga ever got an anime.

-Story: 2
Anything that is “explained” in 'Rizelmine' is completely vague. There was barely an explanation why Rizel (FMC) was an android created “before mankind”. Why? How? “She was created by so and so” …then what happened? What about the other androids? Needless to say, this series is only one volume long so to “squeeze in” every bit of detail was not executed well. Even near the end when you find out about Tomonori’s past (MMC), suddenly “all ...
