As with most of manga that are adaptations of anime and not the other way around, I would suggest watching the anime first. And while I liked the anime more, this was still a nice read.
If you followed my advice of watching the anime first, I guess I don't have to talk much about the story which is practically the same but more condensed. As expected of anime-adapting manga. What's more important to note here is the art. Some of the characters sometimes look a bit weird and off-model, but it's okay most of the time. The illustrations of the tanks are of course great
...
and detailed with no lazy half-assed drawings.
What surprised me the most is that the manga managed to convey the excitement of the battles well. Now, it might of course be because it summoned back from my memory what I felt when watching the anime, but a lot of manga adaptations can't do even that and they left you unsatisfied even if you liked the original anime.
Overall, it's a nice read if you're a fan of Girls und Panzer and can be handy if you've seen the series some time ago and want to refresh your memory before watching the new movies.
