I'm going to start this off by just putting it out there that the author of this, Gosho Aoyama is my favorite mangaka. With that in mind, I went into this leaving all my love of Aoyama-sensei and his previous works at the doorstep, and that isn't very hard to do really since the plot of this is quite different from what he's written before, the only real similarity being his very unique art style.

The story of this is good and enjoyable, but it's something that's been done before, and better. Also there's also the fact that the protagonist, Terumi, is supposed to be able ... to tell when people are lying, yet the way she does so seems more like she's reading there minds than anything else since she can "hear the truth of what someone is thinking just by looking at them". What I do like about this though is that it shows a person's true self, whether that be good or bad, instead of just saying "Oh, yeah. They're lying", which I think was nessasary considering this is a six page one shot.

The art for this is Aoyama-sensei's typical style, the one he's been using for years and has had perfected since around volume 20 of Detective Conan. I've heard people critisize the style for it's simplicty, but have you ever tried actually drawing in that style? It's freaking hard! Also, since it has no slip ups that I noticed in this, I have no qualms with it.

Characterization has to be the weakest part of this however, but that can largly be blamed on the fact that this thing is SIX PAGES LONG and they had to fit an introduction and semiplot into that. Also, a lot of Terumi's character is shown in the dialogue and her manurisms instead of monologue, so I think there was an adequete amount considering the length. Terumi's character is a likable one though, as well as the supporting characters that are in it aside from a certian one...

I think really, the biggest hinderence this oneshot has to it is the length, which stops it from having more character development and plot. Personnally, I really enjoyed this quick little escapade and on the off chance that it gets serialized I'll be sure to check it out.

Overall, I give this short trip into the land of mind reading a 7 out of 10.

The very first moment I saw the page I knew it: Aoyama Gosho. There was no way I was mistaken and for real, it was a One Shot by him!^^ Yay. His drawings are worth the read. I am impressed by his style. There are few mangakas who are able to draw every manga similiar. It's distinctive.
The One Shot was rather shorto but I think it's typical for Aoyama Gosho. I wasn't impressed but he didn't disappoint me. All in all, I was pleased with it.

i was passing by and i noticed an oneshot for detective conan creator , well wasnt that intresting thing sadly but if that one ws a manga absolutely i doubt it gonna be something fun just not that long as conan lol im already suffering to catch the recent chapters

besides that the oneshot was quite short like really does just a few pages so i have no idea what thr author was thinking is this some type of prologue anyways i wont think that much

at the end if you want to see some characters outside of case closed manga you better ... take a look on it
