Without spoiling anything, Joshi Kouhei feels like a completely natural sequel to CMD. If you know anything about Shintarou Kago and Matsumoto Jiro, you’ll know that these two singlehanded have done more to help create the weird japan image than pretty much anyone else (except perhaps for those salarymen buying used panties from vending machines, and uh, those damned otakus, and fujoshis, and... lets stop here.). What’s interesting here is really how they differ in terms of weirdness. While Matsumoto in Joshi Kouhei is trying hard - despite whatever horrible dark secret hovering in the past - to keep a linear storyline and tell it  read more

You ever feel like reading something with just as much tragedy as comedy? Where you can't decide if it's too tragic to make you laugh, or to funny to make you sad? Where the plot is too stupid to be taken serious, and too serious to be laughed off as a joke?

Garden and Joshi Kouhei are the of the type that unfairly give manga a bad rep, works of art that explore the darkness in the human soul.

Nihilism is the main theme here, and a pitch black satire. Violence, sex, and all that is just the frosting of the cake.

Both are edgy super robot manga with themes of existential horror and free will. Joshikouhei is a lot more sexual but if you got into Getter through its connection to Go Nagai you shouldn't be too shocked.

Freesia and Joshi Kouhei are done by the same author, and if you enjoy scraping the inside of your head out you will enjoy reading these as well.
