"The Innocent" manga is a short and dynamic story that tells us about a detective which comes back from the dead to seek revenge after being falsely accused and sentenced to death. As expected, the plot escalates really fast, so the whole story can be contained in only one volume. There is a lot of action, countless fights and a supernatural motive of redemption through helping people out, with the assistance of an angel. The main character, being a stubborn individual, prefers doing things his own way, which, in the end, leads him to achieving his main goal. The story itself makes one wonder about ... the general depiction of good and evil and the true nature of a man. If you are looking for a quick read and enjoy action combined with supernatural then this is the perfect fit.

"Wrongly executed for crimes he did not commit, a former detective is given a
second chance at life. To earn that chance, however, the man now know as Ash
must use the supernatural abilities with which he has been infused to prevent
the deaths of other innocents. But is Ash willing to dedicate himself to helping
others , or is his thirst for vengeance against those who destroyed his life and
his loved ones too powerful to ignore?"

ART:

I'm on love with this art style, although at times the characters look
abnormally immature.
I'm glad that the art wasn't so sexual looking, like most anime and manga,
where no matter what's happening it's all about the girls' tits.

CHARACTERS:

We've got a badass smoker, who likes to do it his way.

A naggy, flat chested angel, who stubbornly follows her emissary's lead,

And a crazy sadistic man who kindof reminds me of a younger Col. Sanders .

The characters have very suiting features, and they all look like they belong in
the story.... however their stories aren't very well told (not like they had
enough time to in such a small book)

STORY:

The book automatically gets to the action, I like this in some ways because I
have such a short attention span, and in this case, I really can't see how else
they would've told the story with such a short book.
but as soon as the main 'Climax' of the book ends, the resolution is just a
straight drop off.
And when people in this manga get hurt or die, I don't feel like the characters
were deep enough to feel what the author/artist intended me (the reader) to feel.

Overall Review:

I think that this really could've been something if the book was a bit longer,
or maybe If there was a second volume.
I would recommend this to someone who is an impatient reader, or to anyone
looking to burn some time
