Wahhaman. Something I have never heard of till a day ago. I was interested because of his similarly with Ougon bat, japan's first ever superhero. I went into this manga not really knowing what to expect and came out liking it more than I thought i would. Though I wish there was more Vols I could find online, so this review is from the 2 Vols translated by Village Idiot Scans and I hope more Vols are translated.
Story 7/10
The beginning of the story is just Wahhaman trying to adapt to his new surroundings. It doesn't go anywhere for the first 2-3 chapters but the story
...
does progress quickly and finds what it wants to do. The story reminds me of one punch man, a guy just trying to live his life while a bunch of villains attack him. Though it has acton it mostly focuses on humor that does blend together nicely. Wahhaman just wants to live his life since he cannot remember a thing, but is constantly harassed on a day to day basis by spies and a robot girl named Remy. I also like how it takes Ougon bat elements and puts them to play.
Art 8/10
Art style is very nice and isn't sloppy or all over the place. Even in battles you can get a clear view of whats going on. I'm also a sucker for this style of art style.
Character 8/10
The character, even though you don't see him talk, is still a likable character. Though it might be for my love of clueless idiots who don't know what they're doing I find it silly how a clueless man trying to live his life while fighting robots is silent, only thing he does is laugh during battles.
I also enjoyed the supporting characters like Remy who is an out going childish girl that is also clueless but tries her hardest to beat Wahhaman.
Enjoyment 7/10
I enjoyed it a lot. I found I couldn't stop reading it and this manga is something to just turn your brain off to since it doesn't have a big story and is more so just little scenarios Wahhaman goes through. Though I do think my only problem with it is the robot girl Remy, though she is just a robot I wasn't really conformable with the outfits and the part where she in a bathhouse. You don't see her full on naked but the fact she is shown as a child and is child like didn't sit right with me. (though the author has worked on a show that has lolicon elements so it's not shocking something like that is in here)
Overall 7/10
If you have some free time I would give this manga a shot. It's a simple manga to turn your brain off and relax, and though the character is VERY similar to Ougon bat, they both are different with a sorta same backstory and look. Overall I would recommend this manga to a more so slice of life/acton type fans.
