Background

Shihonron was published in English as Capital in Manga! by Red Quill Books on June 9, 2012. It was also released in Brazilian Portuguese as O Capital by Editora JBC in July 2011; and in Spanish by Herder Editorial in May 2013.

It's a simplified and illustrated version of Karl Marx's work. Barely any story, no humor, the most compelling love story (that's irony just there). This can barely be called a manga to be honest. But it's well done and simple to understand. There really is a lot thought. So yeah, after reading this, you can try to make people believe You read the real thing. It's so well explained you shouldn't have problems explaining the content to others afterwards. I always feel dumb when I try to explain complicate concepts and realize halfway through I'm going to fail miserably. But worry not, this work here ...

Das Kapital is the claimed adaptation of Karl Marx's famous book under the same name, however, it is not a literal interpretation of the book, mainly because the book did infact not involve a storyline.
In the manga "Das Kapital" we follow Robin, a cheese-maker who goes against his father's socialist wishes and pushes his workers into slavery while feeling guilty about it.
Not a very common story for a manga, but not a very interesting one either.
I'm sure this manga might be very compelling to communists and socialists, but as someone who read this trying to gain a better perspective of communism; it just really wasn't ...
