Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai is one of my favourite manga of all time. So naturally, when I heard that there was an official doujin, I simply could not not read it. And I do not regret it a single bit.

The story in Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Doujin-ban is crazy to say the least. Initially, I thought that this manga would simply be the usual daily life shenanigans of the characters of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai with a lot of ecchi scenes. However, that ended up not being the case, and it started bringing the characters into alternate timelines, where they aren't the high school students we all know. ... To put it simply, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Doujin-ban has an incredibly crazy story. By bringing characters we know from the main series into situations that would be impossible in the parent manga, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Doujin-ban creates a story that's fun and hilarious for people who loved the original. However, it is also important to note that I did not enjoy some of the stories in this manga. There were some that I really loved, and others that I just thought were fine, although I loved the majority of the chapters. In other words, the story can sometimes be inconsistent in quality.

The art in this manga is very good. The characters are drawn properly and the author finds remarkable ways to draw the characters as different versions of themselves, which is both hilarious and creative. Obviously, I do not wish to spoil how the author draws the characters as different versions. But I'll just say that for some characters, simply looking at them was able to pull a few laughs from me.

Surprisingly, the characters in Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Doujin-ban are quite faithful to those of the original series. And that can only mean that the characters in this manga are absolutely fantastic. Accompanied by the fact that many characters are different versions of themselves, I was quite impressed at how the characters acted in ways that would be natural for them. The characters were fun and hilarious, and were the main part that made this manga so fun.

I definitely enjoyed Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Doujin-ban. As mentioned above, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai is one of my favourite manga. As someone who enjoys the original manga, I really liked reading through this manga, bringing all the characters I loved and telling parody stories about them. I highly recommend you to check this manga out if you're a fan of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai. You are sure to have a fun time reading the crazy stories this manga has to offer.

Just a quick review. I think the title with a doujin word refers to a doujin like full of fanservice, but this spin off manga doesn't show much fanservice.

I think from the lack of fanservice, it's not quite right to call it a doujin.

The whole story in the spin off this time in my opinion is like the main manga which is filled with comedy with a bit of fanservice (which is getting less and less). For the character design itself, it's good not to change.

Overall, I think this spin off manga is quite interesting to read in terms of a simple story, although not ... much different from the original manga.

The Kaguya-sama doujin operates on a very strange level of quality. Initially it starts off as an ero-comedy going solely for shock humor. However, it eventually takes a turn into wholesome content and solid storytelling in certain chapters, ditching the ero content almost entirely. The second half of Doujin-ban makes the experience a positive one in the end. While I wasn't having any fun scanning the first 11 chapters and being subjected to out-of-character perversions of characters I hold very dear (Kaguya-sama is my favorite anime after all), reading through them ended up being worthwhile in the end as the kindergarten arc and other chapters ... actually made me genuinely smile. It's just a MASSIVE hill to climb before you get there.
