Nah this made me cry fr
I don't think I've been so invested so soon by a relationship between two people that takes place primarily in one house. Even just seeing them quickly become friends - albeit through shared loneliness - warmed my heart so much.
The author does a great job of making these characters feel so real, from little things like Yeori wanting to make her home full of things she liked even though she was only planning on staying there for a year, because why live even a day badly when you can make it better (she should really take her own advice more!)
I
...
think this is highlighted so much as we get to know the two of them, the more we find out about Joon, the more tragic his situation becomes. For a character who feels so full of life all the time, how awful is it that he died so suddenly when it was just starting?? On the other end you have Yeori, a woman who takes it mostly day by day, not looking forward to anything. With a character like her, the intense relationship she forms with Joon could have gone in a very very unfortunate direction. I'll admit myself to almost wanting her character to become a ghost just so they could both be happy 😓 She ALMOST decides to do this as well - and who knows the Yeori at the start might've!! But as sad as it was, their relationship could only have gone one way (I'm getting teary just thinking about it..)
Anyway, hug your loved ones, hold hands, the power of touch is something I'll never take for granted again!
