I just need to point out what I think that many people don't notice. Spoilers ahead of course.
Jomy has a really shitty life! That's why I feel so sorry for him.
First, after his memories almost get erased, he's dragged away from the humans and he finds out he's a Mu. If he wanted to go back to his normal life, he would get killed. Then he suddenly has to become the leader of the ship although he's new there, knows nothing about them, is only 14 and many Mus don't even accept him. One day, when he meets his friend Sam, he's controlled by a computer and hurts and tries to kill him. Then Sam loses his memories and later dies too, which Jomy finds out at the end of the series. When Jomy tried to find another possibility for the Mus on Nasca, the planet gets blown up by the humans and many allies die, including some close people to him such as Kim and Karina. (I know Karina died before the planet got destroyed, but she died anyway so whatever.) Of course Blue dies too and now he's really the only leader left. When they head to terra at the end, that home planet is f*cking brown, it's toxic and completely destroyed! He still fights the ultimate computer there and humans and Mus finally understand each other, so wow! But just when a brighter future is about to start, he dies.
Also not to mention he changed a lot during the series. Just compare him at episode 1 to him at episode 24. That's just sad, man.
I wonder how he managed stay mentally sane. |
