| Having trouble with chapter length? Well here is one example: [Insert chapter number here: eg: prologue:] [insert chapter title here: eg: Betrayal] [Section one] – next to the section words write a one-two line summary of the section, and write a target amount of words eg: 1500 Generally introduce the primary character and scenery here. It sets the mood of the fiction. Underline the section sums and remember to take them out, once uploaded, but don't get rid of them from your computer they help when you write detail you might forget. [Section two] – next bit is whatever you want as it is with the other sections. Try aiming for 2500-3500 words per chapter (not including the AN's) Remember description, emotion, and dialect. There must always be a balance. Never rush something because it makes it seem tacky and asks for flames that can be hurtful [Section thee] – See two [Section four] – See two [To be continued] -self explanatory lol. ((((only if it's online))) [Small AN once again no Character talk.] It makes one seem insecure about their own writing. - - - And lastly be confident, don't use vocab you don't understand. This is the basic format for a fanfic but can easily be adapted into an original story. For oneshots: Title Opening: establish setting or conflict and introduce main character Middle: build up the readers desire to keep reading. don't go on and on about something or the readers might get bored and skip it. Ending: it doesn't have to be anything special. If it feels like an ending then it is. It can even be one of those endings that the reader is left wondering what happens afterword.
