True man. Anything that's played in Toonami is made popular and is highly rated. Naruto is so overrated for me, that friendship theme and those jutsu techniques.. I find it just ridiculous and hilarious.
I haven't watched Code Geass and didn't like Guilty Crown.
Consider changing the thread title to Overrated and Underrated Anime(s), there are so many underrated anime out there. :)

I fully agree with Death Note! while I enjoyed the vast majority of it, from the point that they killed off L the show just nose dived. and that ending...WTF was that about?!?!?! I'm still bitter about it. ;-)

while it may get me shot, I must put forward Highschool of the Dead and Code Geass.

my feelings on HOTD are best described by a rather intelligent reviewer here at MAL: "Story: Here are some breasts, here are some zombies, and here are 2 guys (trying) to enjoy and protect the breasts pretty much sums it up." and that OVA...somebody must have spiked the ganja that week.

as for Code Geass, I love SF and everyone made it sound like the best thing since moving pictures were invented, so I tried it. I watched 10 episodes and it was not pleasant. those were the most annoying, self-centered, narcissistic, ridiculous characters I have ever come across. oy vey!

Funny thing about HOTD, it actually has a great story and idea for an anime. They just clouded it with boobs.

I would love to see how Deth's gonna react to all the Code Geass comments here.. that's his favorite show. lol
Agreeing with the HOTD views -- good idea, but too much fan service.

very true. that's why I was hyped to watch HOTD--the idea seemed a treat. those first couple of episodes were really interesting, though I should have known things were going to hell with the intro of the nurse. [cheesygrin]

Code Geass & Guilty Crown INDEED !
both look good but the longer the story went the less I could not make me believe what was happening.
And I started with CG because it supposed to have a great ending.

After constant nagging by some buds (not you guys) and the Internet's constant ass-kissing, I've finally started watching Cowboy Bebop.
Extremely over-rated. The story wasn't that great. Deserves a 7/10.

Every big anime is over-rated. Dragon Ball Z, Fairy Tail, Bleach and Naruto. They're all over-rated. Haven't watched Hunter x Hunter so comment about that.

DBZ is an exception in those. It's an epic man. The other DB stuff might not be that good, but 'Z' definitely is an epic.
Hunter x Hunter is really good, try it. :D

in my opinion DBZ is highly over rated ...
It to is fan service but a different kind. The fighting goes on for ever . I remember the fight with Freeza drove me crazy .In the end it ended with a Big Bang lol

That 7/10 is my rating for it. Everybody else is giving away 9s and 10s. It's pretty much like most sci-fi stuff out there so the story is quite generic so I don't really get what's so awesome about it. It's good but that's it.

I'd give a shout out to Outlaw Start but the cast isn't really what you would call a group of 'bounty hunters'.
