I really want to know who exactly is this show trying to appeal to?

Before I begin, I want to make this very clear.

I take no issue with anyone liking this perse. This isn't really something that ever would appeal to me personally, and I wouldn't want anything that I never would have been interested in to begin with to try to appeal to me. But right now I am just REALLY confused, and I have a longing desire to understand.

Ok, so I kinda went into this blind, knowing nothing about this series besides what I read was the concept, which essentially was the equivalent of "A knight injured in battle decides to train a group of females knights to joust," which made it seem like a promising underdog storyline, with the girls ending up falling for their teacher.

Then I tried to watch the first episode, and within 5 minutes, we have a horse ripping off a girls skirt, which was pretty creepy, and then the girl barely caring about what just happened to her the second that the main character comes up to save her, and barely caring that her ass is exposed, and just wishing that the main character found her attractive.

At this point, it began to feel like a really bizarre eroge, where the MC LITERALLY white knights the girls. That scene didn't appear to be played for laughs(Unless the joke was supposed to be that he ignored her and focused on calming down the horse. If so, that is possibly the worst joke ever written.) and the scene didn't seem to focus on how sensual the moment was, so it just sorta felt like something that desperately wanted to be hentai, but couldn't be if it wanted to be put on tv, and felt beyond abrasive.

So again I ask, what exactly is the appeal of this show?

Don't listen to people when they tell you that the anime that you want to see doesn't exist, and to quit asking, and quit searching. I found my dream anime, and yours could be out there too. Speaking of which, watch Record Of Grancrest War, you're missing out.

apeal in this show hmmm. probably the ecchi part and also its a adaptation from a eroge game. Its a fail anime,to put it simply they are just waiting hentai ova of this one(just like the princess lover) Riccota!!

Well it is based off an eroge :P

I also expected it like you did based on the summary. The prologue I wanted to see was no there at all and everyone knew him from the beginning so it didn't have the feeling of him being an underdog.

Guess the animation and fanservice were the only appeal, the rest were pretty disappointing :(

As of 27/7/14 I have decided trap anime Sword Art Online II has more appeal than Mahouka.
