| This ep is so enjoyable for the fact that we essentially get to see a former racer who lost all his passion and love for driving cars and is only talking about cars because of his job, then seeing him rediscover his love for all things cars, to drive in one, to feel the exhilaration of the speed and the memories of his past that connects Kijima to his tuner partner and most of all... His pride and joy, his former car, the white FC, an RX7. That drive with the Devil Z woke up Kijima and made him feel something he has lost these past 5 years, and the moment he saw his white FC, it was such a superb scene, the magical feeling was accentuated by that OST playing in the background. This show has seen many characters so far, but this one felt special due to this sort of rediscovery of one's own past passion. Seeing Kijima smile as he drives his FC on the touge, initial-D style was cool to see. Perhaps with Kijima rediscovering his old FC, Akio too can discover something of his current Z |

| Kijima meets Akio and Tatsu at the diner thanks to Rei nagging him to come along again. Akio lets Kijima drive his fairlady Z and he is astonished with the power. Kijima revisits his old FC RX7 and wants to drive it again but the new owner has sentimental connection to it. Ain't no way they took the FC on a togue run!! |
