Donten ni Warau on MAL

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Dunno if I'm gonna watch. I'm not into shoujo after all.
Kickstarter for Rokujouma is fully funded. Good work everyone. Lets wait for the result of our hard work together.

A adaptation of a manga that has finished? Hmmm that's interesting.

Seems interesting, a historical shoujo with three brothers as the main characters. I'd say i'm looking forward to it.

I have heard good things about this lately. Need MOAR SHOUJO ANIME!!!!

NOT badly adapted otome anime.

The sad thing is, this will probably have bad sales and an otome anime would beat it's sales.

It's got a high rating here on MAL so it should be something, but the best part is that the manga is acutally completed so we can expect a full adaptaion with no open ending.

Other than that, the story does seem interesting, gonna wait for it :)

The title seems very old style.
I like historical as long as it doesn't have oversize big boob, silly comedy or harem ...

You can bet on two things:
It'll sell horribly.
It'll be better than any otome game anime.

Non-romance shoujo getting adapted makes me so happy.

Nothing against romance shoujo it's just nice to see adaptations of things residing outside the box.

Historical/superpower shoujo tend to be spotty, but I'll give this a shot since it's actually an adaptation of a completed manga, which is way too rare.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be a downer...but let's face it: in 2012-13 has any shoujo manga to anime adaptation sold well? Like, more than 6k(not counting event ticket volumes)?

Omg yeees this is great news! I love this manga, and since it's completed, they can't possibly ruin it with an original ending :) Can't wait to see the Kumo brothers being animated. Hopefully they don't butcher the art because it's so beautiful.

Eh I haven't really been following the shoujo adaptations...but I think most of them were probably shoujo romance? Donten ni Warau has some romance, but it's nowhere near the main point of the manga. It basically revolves around the Kumo brothers.

Anyways, can't wait! First Noragami, now Donten ni Warau, all my favorites are getting anime adaptations!

This would be awesome! I love the manga!

I still don't understand why it's labeled a shoujo. Shoujo makes you think of romance-laden stories and this has too much action and general badassery to be smacked with the shoujo label. Not to demean the shoujo genre or anything (it has some great titles), but I just think this should be considered a shounen manga. Anybody who's ever read it should be able to tell.

Shoujo and cooking... I'll probly pass on this, but who knows could be decent I guess I'll go on other peoples reactions before giving it a shot.

Yeah it does feel more like a "shounen" manga than shoujo, but in the end they're just demographics and it's unfortunate that it's seen more as a genre. People probably usually think of romance when they see the word shoujo, just like how people may think of action when it comes to the word shounen. It's most likely just labeled shoujo because it ran in a shoujo magazine, but I think would appeal to both genders and all ages.

Cooking? The cover picture of the magazine is not Donten ni Warau, but the manga Flat...don't worry, it has nothing to do with cooking. There's action and the setting is in the Meiji period.

It's a demographic and there is much variety of manga within the demographic. All being a shoujo means is that it's aimed at younger females.

It's completed? Yes! Full adaptation appreciated.

And it's shoujo, but not romance. Will watch. That cover looks nice and the synopsis sounds interesting.
