| Class Name: Caster of Red Full Name: Ivan Grozny Appearance: Gender: Male Age: Looks to be in his 30's Where and When he lived: Kolomenskoye, Russia, born 1530 Personality I am your God as God is mine Paranoid A part of Ivan's madness is his paranoia. To Ivan, every single person he meets could and probably would betray him if given a chance. Normally, Ivan appears to be a completely normal person, but underneath this facade he is most likely planning your eventual death. You could know Ivan for years and he would seem rather normal...up till the point where he killed you for some perceived 'betrayal'. While Ivan is able to ally himself with others, he is unable to truly form any sense of trust or friendship. Neurotic There are a lot of things that Ivan regrets in his life. Most of that regret is because of his neurotic tendencies. Every failure and every mistake is a personal loss, a personal failure. He blames himself for everything that went wrong during his reign, and his neurotic tendencies feed his madness. Religious/God Complex Ivan is a religious fanatic. During his life he considered himself a God, and used his divine right as Tsar to kill any who opposed him. Even when summoned as a Servant, he still believes himself to be a God and seeks the Holy Grail to obtain true Godhood. Bitter Ivan has experienced a lot of failures during his lifetime, and he is very bitter about them. He feels as though his has personally failed his people, and that he was not a good king. When he is not a mad man with a God Complex, he is a bitter man who hates himself. Self Hatred While he is sane, Ivan absolutely hates himself. He wholeheartedly believes he is a failure, and that he would fail again if he was given a second chance. To him, it would be better of he was never born. Morally Responsible At his core, beyond all his madness and rage, Ivan is a morally responsible person. He takes his duty to his people very seriously and while during his reign he saw the Russian Nobles as traitors and heretic, he always protected the common people. Though he does have mood swings that can dip into horrible rages, he immediately regrets them and usually tries to make amends. Weapons: Icons Small pictures, figures, symbols or drawings that depict some concept or effect Ivan wishes to cast. By using these as channels for his Magic, Ivan need only to call out the name of the spell to achieve its effect, though the icons must be prepared beforehand. Staff A dense and heavy iron rod used for most of his life to kill his enemies at court. It is heavy enough to break bones and is tipped with a sharp spear point. Noble Phantasms: Oprichnina - The Ever-Present Dystopia Type: Support/Fortress Rank: A Range: Self Max Targets: Self In his lifetime, Ivan Grozny created a reign of terror the like of which Russia has had never seen before. He did this by creating a 'State within a State' called Oprichnina, which translates as apart or except. The concept for the state was that of 'A World in which Ivan reigned supreme' and was to be a different 'world' than the Zemschina/Outer world which was left in the hands of the Boyar Nobles. In this land, Ivan wished to create a Dystopia in which all independent social classes where subordinate to his autocracy. This Noble Phantasm is the crystallization of the 'Separate World' which was the center of Ivan's rule. It normally takes the form of a small, ornate, golden cross that he wears around his neck. This represents the cross Ivan used used to defend his armies against the Tartars in the Siege of Kazan. When invoked, the crucifix transforms into a simmering black bounded field which surrounds Ivan. It extends a few inches around Ivan's body and moves with him. This bounded field protects Ivan by isolating him from the outside world into the world of his Oprichina. It is powerful enough to block any invoked Noble Phantasm or regular attacks that are A-Rank or Less. Anti - Fortress Noble Phantasms, however, will automatically piece this barrier. Oprichina lasts for a maximum of 1 minute, and after that time must be reinvoked. Due to the large Mana cost, Ivan is capable of utilizing it three times before he needs a Mana refill from his Master. Byzanthium Liberia - The Golden Library Type: Support/Fortress Rank: C Range: Self Max Targets: Self The Byzanthium Liberia is the mysterious and mythical library that was owned and completed by Ivan Grozny. Originally taken from the Royal Library of Byzantine Empire, it was said to hold thousands of books on all subjects known to man, including holy texts and grimoires of occult knowledge. It was documented as one of the wonders of the world for all the priceless books it contained. It is a library in a vault who's location is no longer known in the modern world. This Noble Phantasm is the crystallization of the great library of Ivan the Terrible, which he used to further his own occult studies. When invoked, the vault which contains Ivan's library will appear in a fixed location of Ivans choosing. It is a Fortress-Type Noble Phantasm that holds within it Ivan's workshop as well as the vast library that houses all of his books. The books in the library contain a great deal of ancient and forgotten knowledge about the entirety of the world, as well as the unadulterated legend of many heroes. After encountering the Noble Phantasm of another Servant, Ivan may use his library to research his opponent's identity. While this Noble Phantasm doesn't grant him knowledge of the Servant's identity immediately, with time and a great deal of research Ivan can discover it. Oprichnik - The Tsar's Dogs Type: Anti-Unit/Anti-Army Rank: D Range: 30 Meters Max Targets: Varies The Oprichnik were the 300 handpicked men who served under Ivan the Terrible and enforced his reign of terror. Each of the men chosen swore complete and utter loyalty to the Tsar, and shared his dream of an independent state within a state devoid of the Boyars. These men where a symbol of fear throughout Russia and their actions defined the Tsar reign and the creation of similar secret police in later centuries. This Noble Phantasm is a crystallization of the men who swore to be at Ivan's side and enforce his dream of a realm that was subordinate to his autocracy. The Oprichnik are not Heroic Spirits in their own right but are beings who gave their entire existence to Ivan's desires. Thus they are not separate existences but are more akin to powerful wraiths that can be summoned by Ivan. Each of the Oprichnik are as strong as a reinforced human and can not defeat a Servant by themselves. A maximum of 300 Oprichnik can be summoned but each individual creature requires a separate blood sacrifice of a living or still warm body as well as a separate invocation of this Noble Phantasm. When summoned, the wraith will inhabit the body and use it as a vessel to interact with the world. They appear a black robed, armed monks. Each wraith will have it's own small pool of prana allowing them to move. To remain in this world, however, they must receive prana from Ivan. Class Skills: Item Construction B Territory Creation B Skills: Iconography B A style of Magecraft originating from the beliefs of the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Byzantine Empire. This style of Magecraft combines Icons with the teachings of the Orthodox Church to turn the Icons into symbols of power from which a practitioner can cast their spells. At this Rank, Ivan can use the Icons to cast high thaumaturgy spells. Icons at Rank B or below take at least an hour an hour to make, while anything higher will take upwards of two hours. Imperial Privilege A Due to the insistence of the owner, Skills that are essentially impossible to possess can be acquired for a short period of time. At Rank A, Ivan can obtain the skills Charisma, Military Tactics, Librarian of Stored Knowledge, Subversive Activities, Eye for Art and Divinity at Rank C. This skill is only active while Ivan is inside his Golden Library. Aegis of Faith A+++ A skill possessed only by those who sacrificed themselves for a religious view. Despite being a form of Divine Protection, it is not a blessing from a higher existence. It is only the absoluteness of one's body and soul, which is born from faith. However, at higher levels, it causes abnormalities in the personality. Ivan was an extremely devout believer who at times though himself to be a God. Discernment of the Poor C(B) The insight to see through the opponent's character and attribute. During his childhood, Ivan and his brother spent a great deal of time with the poor of Moscow. Seen as a fold hero for a time by the peasantry, Ivan continued this contact for several years during his early reign. Coupling this with the treacherous nature of his nobles, Ivan has learned to discern the character of people of all stations.
