As this club grows and I decide more and more what exactly I want to do about this club, I came to two choices. Because Touhou is in ISML 2009, we can:
a) cry
b) suggest some ways to "fix" ISML for the future.

Our club, representing people who believe touhou does not belong in ISML due to its current circumstances (I would actually argue further but that point is vain) because it cannot compete fairly, should modestly suggest a rule change in the future. So I thought that we can discuss it here and later formally present one official statement representative of the entire club to ISML.

Here are some things I thought of:
Setting a minimum series length (with a possible minimum time limit for movies) or an overall time length for series (wide open for discussion and most feasible)

Requiring that a show has actually aired. Upon extremely close reading of ISML's current rules, I can split like 17 hairs and claim that this rule already exists and touhou is currently not eligible but I'd have to be Johnnie Cochran to actually pull it off. :P

Requiring that a professional studio make the anime. This is feasible, practical, and fair. (I could spend a few hours in Adobe flash and make an anime about Miku Hatsune, can she get in?)

I don't want to make this club's goal to make up and suggest rules directly targeting touhou. However, there is a really feasible chance that some touhou characters finish above .500 and qualify next year. We would also have to talk about this.

Discuss these things I thought of and suggest your own.

The first thing we need to do is keep every currently-eligible Touhou character out of the .500 clause, which means vote against them early and often. A petition to set a minimum length for anime given the kind of anime (movie, ova, series, etc.) is a wise choice as well, kevo, but I can see qualms with the fan-made aspect. If the people who made the Touhou OVA make it an OVA series, then it would be eligible.

The loopholes need to be tightened though. To do this we must examine the rules, prove that they are flawed in our favor, and make suggestions of new rephrasings of the rules for the ISML staff.
My first novel, Kardia has been published! Click here to read!

I agree with reviewing the rules but we can only applied that next year ><

Anyway, I'll weigh the results for Prelim 2.
