| I doubt that it'll just leave off at the end of the Harpies arc. The safest place to end it off without leaving it at a huge cliffhanger (something the anime has done with season 1, 2 and the Hiyori arc) would be at the end of the Melan arc, but that would mean it would only adapt ~15 chapters, and that's just about right considering the first two seasons adapted about 17 chapters each. Let's say the third season adapts up the end of the end of the Melan arc and saves its last episode or two for the Christmas special (chapter 57) and chapter 58 that reveals a bit of Sugata's past. This would follow the trend of the first two seasons by finishing off a dramatic arc and ending the season with a fanservice episode. There is just WAY too much drama past chapter 60 and I think the manga is near its end, so it would be safe for them to just wait for the manga to end and just make a proper adaptation of what follows past the Melan arc. |

I bet somewhere in Japan, there is a dim-lit room with a bunch of men chain-smoking cigarettes and ripping their hair out while arguing about how they're going to get around the fact that they fucked up so hard with the end of season 2 and the Hiyori arc, which all come back to play a massive role in the Melan arc. I mean, What are they going to do about Chaos' storyline? Her issues seemed to have been resolved in the anime's season 2, but not in the manga. It's going to take a lot to recover from these massive plot divergence. I'll watch SnO 3, but I'll probably be bitching about it after every plot episode. |
