| I doubt everyone would make a new appearance. But one can always hope. I personally would really like to see May return, her only purpose for returning in DP was to lose to Dawn and let her regain her confidence. :( I think we'll probably see the rivals from BW again, and maybe those who live in Kanto. But it would be nice to see everyone again. |
| I disagree, Haruka's cameo was more than just "losing to Hikari". Yes, it was important for Hikari's ribbon (it would have made no sense if they brought her back just to win a ribbon and leave - plus, Hikari's victory was a very close one), but extremely important for her character development. She started as a bit clueless about Pokemon and didn't know what she wanted to do and became independent enough to travel alone and was very mature and gave good advice to Hikari. Even her Pokemon grew up in the Mikuri Cup! As for the ending, I wish they could bring Shinji back - he's my favorite character and he needs a cameo. Then again, I wanna see many characters again, like Haruka or Hikari, both of them are my favorite Pokemon characters after Shinji. They didn't even mention any DP rivals during Hikari's cameo, that was disappointing. |
| Yes, she became indepenent and gained a lot of experience. That's why it was so stupid to make her lose to Dawn. And what else did she do in Sinnoh? Ok, she evolved Glaceon, but the main reason she went there was the Wallace Cup. She travelled through 2 regions and was currently travelling in Johto, had 13 ribbons at that moment and participated in two Grand Festivals before. And it's not that she used a newly caught Pokémon or something, she had that Eevee for quite a while. On the other hand, Dawn was still a beginner, how many ribbons did she have? One. So Dawn's victory and May's character development don't even make much sense. You also mention that May gave advice to Dawn. While it's true, it's exactly for the same reason as losing to her. The writers didn't return May for her own sake, they did for Dawn's, that's why I didn't like it. To stay on topic: Since we know most episodes until the end of August, now I find it unlikely that we'll even meet the BW rivals. Satoshi and group are getting further and further away from Unova, so it would make even less sense for them to just drop by on a random island. Now the only person who still has a plausible chance to return is Tracey. Maybe they could manage to bring Misty and Brock somehow back to a reunion episode in Pallet Town, but I still find it unlikely. Maybe they just wanted to compensate with that ending for the unconcluded rivalries and put some older characters in there without any reason. 08-24-2013 Edit: Spoiler from the end of DA!: |

| It'd be nice for May to return, always wanted her to return to the Pokemon anime. Paul coming back would be pretty good too. Can't wait to watch the Brock-meets-Cilan episode. |
