Until it gets picked up by an English company, chances are it will not have an english name.

Do you mean "What does title mean in English?"? Bakumatsu means "end of curtain", referring to the end of the Edo period. Gijinden is a mixture of the kanji for Yoshito (meaning: righteous) which can be read as gijin, and Denki (meaning: biography or legend). The Roman part of the title is of course just the protagonist's name.

So if you really wanted to translate it to English, it would be "The Righteous Legend of Roman from the End of the Edo Period". I'm pretty sure the title was better the way it was.

If a English company did pick this up, I feel like they'd go with a title like "Legendary Thief Roman" or something.

My friend was calling it Phantom Thief Roman. Not sure if he's right or not.
