THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Many reviews of this series pointed out that the series might have been more interesting had the country not been fictional. After this episode I'm thinking there are enough parallels with real world to make it interesting and slightly controversial. The mountain landscapes, the ruler who's also a religious leader (and Buddhist) and now the description of another religion that supposedly coexisted with Buddhism, all are pointing at Tibet. In that context the way things are described aren't neutral at all. Before Chinese rule Tibet was still largely a feudal theocracy and this is like speculation on how things might be if that had continued... not necessarily a paradise.

Yeah,good point.

Interesting to learn more about the city and the ending scene with the girl was beautiful.I like how this anime captures a certain atmosphere,it enhances the otherwise dry watch a bit.

The atmosphere and realism in this show is brilliantly done. Not to mention, the cinematography from the ending scene with the old and new Kuhura was breathtaking.

This one was really good, so the Buddhism was introduced later in this country, but it's now the most influential religion/power here. The other religion, the one with the Kufura, is interesting too, I liked getting to know the former Kufura, and if that Buddhist leader really is bad news, I guess that the people only have to go back to their roots, or better yet, just revolutionize it all, but I guess this would be too hard for a country that is burning in war, but well, enough with the ifs, and predictions.

I loved the build up to this next operation too, missions with a sense of urgency, making use of the best possible timing are always exciting! I also liked how Shirasu is closer to Ichiyanagi, and not only to him, but to everyone else as she really became part of the team, and it is showing on her pictures too, I loved it!
