Really like the idea of anime versions of ancient epics. I found this quite a disjointed watch though, but I guess that's to be expected given the nature of the material; they're packing a lot of stories in, sometimes summarised by narration, so it's hard to get a feel for the characters. I don't think it would be fair to be more critical! Watch if you're curious and want a crash course in Ramayana...
If you're thinking of watching, beware it's not all like the (more typically anime) opening scenes.

Quite different from the Ramayana I'm used to, those Vimana's though, wonder if Miyazaki was involved somewhere?

Really Beautiful Movie. Best version of Ramayana simplied. Easily sums up my childhood, i remember watching this during diwali vacations on TV. Now you can easily watch it on YouTube.

It is really an awesome anime. As an Indian guy , who likes to explore Indian mythologic stories , I really liked the anime version of this great Indian epic.
Hats off to all the animators who worked in this movie. This movie used to get broadcasted on Pogo , an Indian cartoon TV channel , every year on Diwali before.
I really liked the Indian songs in this movie . My respect for this movie increased after knowing that a Japanese director made this Anime movie along with Indian Animator , Ram Mohan.
I came to know that the director of this movie was working on another Indian Mythological Anime project , but unfortunately he died before he was able to complete it.
May his soul Rest in peace 🙏

The great animation and direction.

Anyways I had to watch this for a school project of making a comic months ago and man, the scenes were cool, but my personal fave was the monke flying scene 😎😎😎

Anime fan and enjoyer since 2017, but still searching for more well written and unpredictable anime cuz bruh I’ve been stuck in the shounen genre for a long time and I wanna explore more poopoo caca

This movie was initially banned in india by our bjp govt. Lol they wanted a movie that was made in india
