That shit warms my heart. Never have I seen a greater love between a pedophilic teacher and a gangster middle schooler. But seriously, a great chapter revealing how Tohru's parent fell in love.
Harems don't exist in America. If one guy is constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, then he's probably the gay friend.

Fruits Basket takes care of every character, like every SINGLE FREAKING character.

I don't know why, but Kyouko and Katsuya's relationship never bothered me when I was younger, but now I feel a bit uncomfortable. I know love has no boundaries, but I feel like the age when they fell in love with each other was too young...if Kyouko had been at least in her last two years of high school, I probably wouldn't feel the same way about the start of their relationship. I re-read the words "middle school" several times just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. Then I remembered that she didn't (go?) graduate high school. Well I don't doubt that such relationships happen in the world, but usually it's not a happy ending.

But it really was fortunate that Kyouko met Katsuya, I wonder how she would be had they never met. Some meetings really change your whole life.

I'm gonna be honest Katsuya and Kyoko's age difference creeps the hell out of me. I thought she was in high school instead of middle school, I mean come on this is too much of a difference for him to like her, considering he's a grown adult. She's not even 16 yet. I'm just hoping the next chapter will be a timeskip to when she becomes an adult so I can feel more at ease lol. But anyway I agree that their meeting really changed Kyoko's life for the better. Her parents are both trash

Yeah, my initial reaction isn't positive to the idea of a middle schooler and adult hooking up but the outcome being the birth of Tohru, a sweet and positive effect on people a lives up until now, makes things a bit complicated to say the least.

i love katsuya and kyoko’s relationship and i don’t mind the age gap if they were just a bit older but why does it have to be teacher-student relationship? it’s romanticising it.. ehh

i’m 15 so i’m just going into high school (if i was in japan) and that disturbs me dgusjs

but their relationship is very cute nonetheless!!

The disconnect in Katsuya's demeanor is pure gold. He's as polite as Tohru, yet as devious as Shigure.

It wrenches my heart asunder when I look at Kyoko and see a reflection of my own adolescence. Even as an adult, it feels like my worst years keep following me and that every misfortune I suffer is a punishment for "doing whatever the hell I wanted."
