A quick note, the Kaiji and Zero options include all series/seasons from both franchises. I believe no further explanation is necessary. Also, please tell us a bit why you like the option you picked.

Personally, I think Ten is his best work. I found the characters easy to relate to, and the final arc felt really existential and moving. I must admit that the first volumes were awkward in terms of story and art though.

It's really a tossup. Kurosawa and Ten were both very inspirational, and they probably left the biggest impact, but Kaiji has by far been the most entertaining. I'm going to play it safe and say Kaiji.
