The soundtracks and sound effects were very bland, leaving animations on took way too long and were completely unskippable. fgsfds! FE9 and FE10 have some of my favorite soundtracks, amazing orchestration that borders on the Impressionistic Era of... eh, but I understand if it's not your thing, I just have a thing for classical music, especially the Romantic Era (i.e. Beethoven) and Impressionistic Era (i.e. Debussy), and Yuka Tsujiyoko (FE's composer) seemed to draw from those types of music a lot more in FE9 and FE10, so I'd enjoy it more.

Especially considering how easy the game was. I never replayed it on the higher difficulties (there was nothing to unlock, and my copy of the game was actually stolen after some time) but at least on the normal runthrough, soloing the whole final level with Ike, then soloing the final boss with him? There was no challenge at all. Combine this with the slow animations, I literally fell asleep waiting for some turns to end. Sounds like it's just the console thing. FE 6/7/8/11 being handheld and not needing to use as detailed graphics are more capable of much shorter battle sequences. However in FE10 you can turn sequences off completely, with no animation anywhere whatsoever. I thought this was relatively faster. Whole turns can be skipped in FE11? Please tell me how, to be honest, FE11 was really boring for me, lol.
Actually if you play it on a difficulty other than Easy, FE10 is arguably the toughest FE game there is, behind FE5. The first ten chapters are almost impossible. And you can't solo the end chapters with Ike either. There's a ton of challenge; all other FE games are pretty easy on the easiest mode, like FE8 (which is then a walk in the park). The final boss is also, if not on Easy, pretty difficult. If you soloed that with Ike, even at maxed levels, he'd likely die.
Your Mileage May Vary, anyways, everyone has their preferences; I don't enjoy FE11 that much myself, anyways. |
