THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I'm not sure what to think about this episode, it was interesting. Kinda annoying how they decided to put this arc right in the middle of the Hueco Mundo arc, but meh. I did like seeing Kon again after a while, and the Enryuu guy reminds me alot of Armstrong from FMA.

I'm beginning to get pissed off at how often Ichigo uses his Bankai. It doesn't really seem all that powerful now that he uses it so much...mabye he'll get a more powerful attack eventually.

I'm curious as to see how this arc is going to progress.

The animation was pretty iffy again in the first part of the episode but the story seems ok...so far. I wonder how it ties between the new Captain and the 3 shinigami coming to the real world. I would think that there is a connection between them.

I have to say that this episode bored the hell out of me, hopefully the rest of the fillers will be more interesting.
The only thing I enjoyed was the Shinigami's Cup =P

yeah same here... but are they really back now? Or is it that they are back just in this filler arc. because I'm kinda confused about that -.- They were just in Hueco Mundo, now back in the real world? Also... wonder where Urahara went

well despite the terrible terrible transition in to this arc, it was actually an enjoyable episode. everythign was pretty much ok. although you wouldnt imagine that they were all dying only days earlier, and now they are miraculously back ot the real world.

LOL! I thought that as well.. Orihime's imagination of "a princess who would toy with Ichigo" was hilarious.

Okay.. so suddenly everyone forgets about the HM stuff and live on further with their school lives >.> It seemed to me in the beginning that this arc was set before the HM arc, but then they still have the powers they had up to now. It's a bit strange, because Uryuu is back to being cold again and Rukia is back to her silly self..

And then you also have Ichigo showing off to the little girl by using his bankai on some mere hollows. That really made me go wtf?!

Could consider this episode okay since still a lot has to happen and to be explained, but looking at what happened the past 2 episodes I can only conclude that this arc is going to fail compared to the 'original' plot. But then again.. it's just the 2nd episode so we'll see how it will turn out.

Bleach continue to make no sense... -.- They are back to the new world suddenly and then it looks like everyone had forgotten everything about Hueco Mundo. Ichigo using bankai on those hollows too.

Well, I liked the episode well enough. (and that new shingami who looks like Kaien is pretty....) even it I really don't understand how it fits into the story... oh well. I'm glad that Chad, Ishida and Inoue are finally taking their place, if not on par, at least closer to Ichigo's abilities.

But why, oh why does everyone have to go to school with Ichigo? There's really no reason for a shinigami... even if they want to learn more about him they don't have to pretend to be students... they live next door... uh. It's a little ridiculous. I mean, they have phones, they don't have to be near each other all the time in case somethings happens. The only person who ever looked even remotely like a first year high schooler was Toushiro.

but Shinigami Men's society? That was hilarious. Ukitake doesn't pull off the manly look at all, and Nanao is great. hehe.

This episode was slow. But I guess that's to be expected... They're starting a new arc, and so they have to intro a lot of new characters and set up the plotline. So, as far as a set up episode goes, it was okay.

What I'm confused about is where this arc takes place in the timeline... In this episode, we see Ishida with his new bow. But he revealed that on their way into Hueco Mundo. So, it can't really take place in the past...but if it takes place AFTER the HM arcs, then it ruins the whole thing, because you would know everyone survives in the end, and that nothing bad happened. This is quite a connundrum. Anyone have an idea? o_O

The first WTF came from the episode's setting. I mean, how come they are at home with no trace of HM arc? Did they forget everything already? Also another WTF to bankai. He didn't have to use it. He defeated a menos grande at far beginning of the story, and now he can't defeat some normal hollows?

Other than these problems, the actual episode was pretty good. It was a good laugh, and that little girl looked hot in high school outfit. Urahara never ceases to amuse me (no im not into loli.) Not the episode i wanted to see, but it wasnT so bad.

Major Armstrong FTW!

It is NOT before the HM arc as it shows Ishida with his new bow and Chad with his new arm. I think the alternate universe idea is pretty on the spot. Its not after the HM arc in the manga from what it looks like either. Either way, I kinda hate the random jump to this alt universe. We go from a story that just finished a huge fight and everyone has taken heavy causalities to THIS. And yes, Enryuu is like Armstrong from FMA, except that hes a mime, or he at least refuses to talk and instead uses crude hand gestures. The bad guys (Mr. Monocles and Mr. Ninja Mask) from the outside of Soul Society have yet to be revealed, hopefully we'll see em in 5 eps. I'd also like to say itll be weird jumping back to the HM arc after this...

I think it was an enjoyable episode, of course it will have its cons like ichigo using Bankai, i mean its a filler no one expects it to be good. On the other hand having some of the "old" characters being involved again was refreshing... and zomg!!!! the Mens association was an instant lol (ukitake with that outfit yay!)

Honestly, I loved the whole episode, i think i rofled 4 or 5 times throughout the episode.
this filler arc reminds me of the first bleach episodes with the slice of life and school setting.

Ok... I can say that I'm liked the episode am an interested in this filler arc. I agree that it seems odd that all of a sudden they're back in the real world with no explanation, but whatever... I'll just enjoy this for what it is.

A couple observations:
1: Well... I REALLY don't want to sound like a male pig but has anyone noticed Orihime's chest got smaller?
2: When Whats-his-name put up the barrier to keep Ichigo out he made some hand motions that looked like symbols. I was like WTF!? What the hell is this, Naruto!?
3: Looks to me like Rukia's face has changed a bit... maybe the eyes?

Anyways, looking forward to more... I really don't have a problem with filler, just feels like a "summer break" like all TV shows do.

Boring ep. The only thing that kept me watching was because I wanted to hear the explanation of how they suddenly were back in Karakura. But nothing...
So I guess it's some kind of alternate timeline, since Ishida and Sado both had their new "weapons".
Tho I would rofl if it turns out to be something like a dream Grimmjow had while being unconscious after his fight against Ichigo.

The Men's Association Meeting was awesome. Real men wear sunglasses indoors. xD

Yay for crappy animation quality! :D

Aside from that and a few other gripes I had with the episode, I enjoyed it. Course I want to get back to the Hueco Mundo arc, but its obvious that they're doing this so that they can put more effort into the HM arc... I hope. o.o

Well I have to say this really wasnt that bad. As others have said, the only real problem with this is when they decided to start this arc in the middle of another. as they said, just think of it as a seperate story, every episode doesnt have to be in order, theyre not "magically back in the real world", this is just a different story where theyre already there. (perhaps post-HM arc) Anyways as for the episode itself, I have to say it actually made me laugh out loud a few times, like the Hollow Dogpile, Orihime and Rukia's mad drawing skillz, ishida's bugspray bow, "the fabled convienience store!!", ichigo's dad's routine had me rofling this time, as well as .... whats his name, ichigo's friend that always gets ignored, "this is why we hate our hat!", etc etc etc

Cons:
DB translated that one line as "Meh." /emo

Filler - CHECK !!!

Not a fan of the whole younger female characters as there often snooty brats that annoy the hell outta me which is the case this time around as well =(

Hmm... I'm guessing that "The New Captain Shūsuke Amagai arc" is gonna last till 172, then they will probably switch back to HM. Also its probably because the anime is trailing the manga pretty closely and this anime-only arc is giving them time to dish out new chapters or something like that.

But I'm still wondering what Urahara's role is in all of this... for one, he is missing, and another is that they are keeping it confidential information.

I personally had no problem with this episode. We all knew that we were going to be entering fillers. The anime's caught up the the manga, it's as simple as that. It was either this, or stop airing Bleach for a season. I'll concede that the sudden locale change wasn't handled very well, but shows go back and fill in plot holes all the time. Or maybe this is a flash forward?
The animation was a little odd, but not as horrible as everyone's making it out to be. Remember, we just came off an epic fight where I'm sure they had a special team animating the whole thing. People were even saying how Orihime looked wonky, prolly because it was a different set of individuals doing the drawings. It's interesting to see, though, the way the style's changed from the beginning of the show to this point (comparing similar slice-of-life situations).
As for Bankai, defeating a Hollow's supposed to be at least somewhat of a chore. Granted, Ichigo isn't a run-of-the-mill shinigami, but a lot of other shinigami have died fighting normal Hollow. Even with his shikai, it isn't necessarily like a stroll through the park. Whether it was to appease fanboys or to try and bring some balance back to the shinigami-Hollow strength (I'm looking in your direction Allen Walker and the Level 1 Akuma...), I was okay with it. Plus, they needed it to advance the plot :P

ok one comment about the bankai making ichigo look weak. who the hell cares. if you had a bankai, can you honestly say you wouldnt use it just because you could? think about that for a sec. and also here's the more logical explanation: they were fighting off 50+ hollow, if his bankai gives him h4x speed, and it meant he could finish them off much faster than with his shikai, doesnt that make alot more sense?

it was a decent episode. the animation was decent, i mean there are some horrible animation sequences out there. the transition wasnt done too well but they gave a brief explanation at the beginning of the previous episode. by brief i mean a sentence but they did explain it i believe.

i thought the part after the credits was great.

"what about Lurichiyo's clothes being so baggy??"
"the boss's personal tastes"
"He's a maniac"

lol that had me cracking up.

/me pats
Time for you to watch some more series to get some insight into this. Most shounen with ninjutsu or onmyodou or stuff like that generally use handsymbols to activate. This is far from being something Naruto exclusive.
I know that's a bad explanation but I do not care to go in depth into this, if someone wants to give a fullscale explanation please knock yourselves out.

Not even that. The fillers are just... there. They thought it would be super cool to just stop the HM arc and just stick a completely unrelated filler arc in there just to have the mango advance a bit.

The filler arc has nothing to do with the HM arc. It's just a story that was pulled out of Studio Pierrot's ass. We are not meant to question how Ichigo and co got back. They're just there.

Being a person who actually went to the movie premiere of the Diamond Dust Rebellion and enjoyed the shonen qualities of Bleach, I truly believe this arc will have nothing to do with the Bleach we have all come to know and love.

Doesn't this whole show feel non-Kubo Tite now? It's like they handed the entire concept to KyoAni or something.

The worst things about this episode:
3) The obvious tsundere Lurichiyo.
2) Ichigo using his Bankai to defeat such a crappy bunch of hollows.
1) Orihime thinking about S&M.

I don't know why everyone is putting up a fuss about this new anime-only arc that they had released, but I feel that that's because in a year or so, the "Back To The Pendulum" manga series will continue on. Should the anime continue where they left in the Huedo Munco arc, they may have to wait for the manga to return to where they left before the Pendulum chapters started. Even if they want to show the Pendulum chapters in the anime version, they will soon catch up with the manga (which usually gets released about 2-3 weeks per chapter) and will have to wait (again).

I have the feeling that this new anime-only arc may perhaps be the events after Aizen's rebellion, given all of the evidences like Chad's, Ishida's and Inoue's abilities proven to be the same (or even better after the main story), Karakura Town still existent (Perhaps I stumbled upon the ending of the main series?) and the 3 Captain places that are left empty (until a new captain arrives in the first episode of the arc).

Yup I also was like "WTF? Naruto?" when that guy did hand signs xD And about Hime's chest and Rukia's face: yup they did change but I think it's because of the crappy filler animation.
