I found this turn of events quite jarring for me, i love Signum and seeing her treated like this by the writer makes me angry, but well, i'm calmer now and trying hoping that she will survive based on some facts:

-She has a new AEC equipement waiting for her
-The Wolkies are not that easy to kill
-It's simply too soon and pointless if they kill her now

I accept that she suffer a defeat, is't a good way to develop her character and let her grow as a person. WHY i complaining is about how they handle said defeat, at first is fairly stablished that Signum overhelmns Cypha in terms of technique and power, but then Cypha activates her "Game Breaker" weapon that nullifies said power and slash Signum with semingly no efort from her part(much less technique XP) i was expecting a good and bravely fight and what i get is a villain gloating of how awesome his weapon is. I found that pretty lame and indignant for a characters like Signum and Agito, it's like Cypha is making fun of her for being a serious and honourable fighter. If Masaki Tsuzuki's goal is to boil the blood of Signum's fans then sure he did his job right. TSUZUKI must be apologize.

Sorry for all the rant xDU.

It's a manga, not the real life.

I like Signum and I think that this fight was all good. As you said Sigum fight by a code of honor whilel the ennemie trampled on it (and on her as well) which was not useless for an overconfident fighter like Signum. Quite daring for a mahou shoujo to see one of the main character in such a pitiful state which was very good as well.
Now Signum must get her AEC equipement and beat the crap out of Cypha.

I'll prying for that, but plotwise thinkin Cypha's next opponent maybe will be Subaru, after all her new AEC equipment is properly called "Sword Breaker" and Cypha is the only Huckebein member with Sword-like weapons so far.

About the "mahou shoujo" part, Tsuzuki state early that FORCE manga has left behind the "Magical Girl" aspect of the story(hence the change in te title from "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha" to "Magical War Chronicles Lyrical Nanoha FORCE", at first i was attracted but i have an uncomfortable feeling with all this "anti-magic" thing. The days when brave mages and Knights fight with skill and courage are over, know it's all about "who has the better weapon".

She will eventually and no she didn't die. Why would they kill such a badass character? Remember season 2 of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
