she can ask help from her maid or father

she couldve asked for helped from calisto before s4 ending, he would kill/imprison yvonne instantly if penelope asks

pink hair brother is iffy but he could help too, his brainwash was relatively weak

she just cant ask derrick for help which was never an option anyway

i just find this plot development stupid and penelope s behavior completely out of character


legitimately gutted my suspension of disbelief in 25 chapters, 10/10 to 3/10 unless they make a magical recovery

With the poison - I think the game would have kept her alive anyway, no? Same as with the previous one.

As for Yvonne - Penelope doesn’t know she’s possessed, but she knows it’s the same person as in the cave. I don’t understand why she didn’t tell Vinter and Callisto the moment she saw Yvonne had the mirror. Vinter she might be pissed with, sure, but she was on good terms with Callisto. And now she made peace with Vinter but still didn’t tell him, only gave a tiny hint.

It does feel very contrived. My guess would be that this section follows the genre tropes, where the “villainess” is too afraid of the “heroine’s” influence enforced by the game. In other words “Penelope thinks that whatever she says, everyone will believe Yvonne anyway because the game says so.” But we don’t get that from Penelope, not clearly at least.


All that said, I liked how done and uncaring she was with Eclis. Evil Penelope is second only to the excited archaeologist Penelope.
