so im about 9 episodes deep into haruhi and been enjoying it so far but when i looked in the internet they say chronological order is a better way of watching this series and broadcast order is an outdated way of watching it and i basically just absolutely fucked up my watching experience by watching it in broadcast. so should i rewatch this chronological or just continue with broadcast. (also is ep 9 filler?? "someday in the rain")

The watch order is personal preference and you have in no way fucked up your experience by watching it in broadcast order. Since you’re already 9 episodes in I would recommend just continuing watching how you are and enjoy the series.

guess ill just stick to broadcast watching it like this kind of reminds me of monogatari. ill just rewatch again in chronological when i finished s2

I personally think broadcast order is best for the first time because of the way information is revealed that way and that’s simply how it was originally released. Usually you have to really go out of your way to watch it in broadcast order, almost all rereleases are in chronological.

TL;DR: broadcast order gives the series the flavor it is meant to have.

Not to worry! I watched broadcast order my first time like you are and it's still my favorite anime ever. Chronological order is better for any subsequent rewatches you do.

Its fine if you watch it in broadcast order. It really doesn't change too much. It was released in such an order because of the lackluster ending in season 2 if you watch it chronologically nothing more. Overall I would say the ending didn't even matter because there is a movie after season 2 so watch it however you like. Personally I prefer the chronological order because I don't see the appeal of the ending that the broadcast order provided because it gets overwritten by the movie anyway and you have to figure out in what order things happened if you follow the broadcast order.

broadcast order is really messed up, but for you is better to finish 1st season in that order since you already started like that, it's still an intended experience so don't worry. second season as long as I remember broadcasted chronologically, if not watch it chronologically anyway
