| Am I wrong, but isn't the title from that one scene where Ranmaru was stammering to answer that he was a vampire, which in Japanese is "banpaia" hence that's where the "ban"/"ba" comes from and doesn't make as much sense in English. Keeping it as "babanbabanban" makes it look more like unrelated sound effects or something. |

That would be an accurate English translation of the title, but the pun doesn’t really exist in English so it doesn’t matter too much either way.

Saw a video that said the title is a reference to a Japanese hot springs songs, so maybe they kept it like that because of it?

I feel like it comes down to English speakers not being the intended audience, or at least the primary one. There’s likely no need to highlight it in the show because Japanese viewers already understand, so there’s no natural way to fit it into the translation. |
