I'm ready for all the hate I get for this. But I think all those disasters happened because of Yuri. She really made some dumb decisions. If Yuri and Shiro would have more honest with each other there wouldn't have been that disaster and casualties. All started because of Yuri's dumb decision. Starting to get sympathised with a murderer. I know Satan is the main villain and he's pure evil. But they could have just brute forced Satan as his body was already decaying. "It's all Yuri's fault".

@iAMsc06 yup I also like her. But I hate her decision. It's just that I wanted her to be happy with Shiro alone. But it all ruined because of her decision and Satan.

Shes drunk in her own delusions in thinking that everything can be fixed by talking and giving a slap on the hand as a punishment. People like her are extremely dangerous both in the anime and irl, they are the type of people who would let a mass murder go if they cried in front of her and say that they aren’t gonna be bad anymore.

It's hard to deny it is because it is... But what were the alternatives? It seems to me they weren't all that much better. Just like in Lucifer's case earlier where the choice basically was between the destruction of the world and the cruel human experiments just to pacify him...

Still, for fairness' sake, it has to be said that it is not only Yuri's fault. Nearly all the involved dropped the ball hard when it comes to the whole Satan mess, starting with the demons who ally with humans failing to detect Satan coming into existence, identify him in time, assess the state and possible development of his ego and its consequences and take steps to at least attempt to 'raise' him into something somewhat balanced mentally and spiritually instead of locking him up and leaving it all up to a naive and inexperienced girl with her limited knowledge and expertise.

If you notice, all the human-side demon rulers that we were shown (Shemihaza, Azazel and of course Mephisto) look more or less well-adjusted when it comes to understanding and appreciating humans, their society, culture and ultimately emotions and Assiah as a human world. With how fast Satan was developing, Yuri simply found herself ill-equipped to keep up with that wholly inhuman speed and give him appropriately served knowledge instilling the appreciation of life and the world, and this is where those well-adjusted demons might have made a difference. Maybe, if Satan is indeed innately evil, it might not have worked (like Brightburn...), but then, considering how the other higher demons mostly aren't entirely and unambiguously evil by nature, even Lucifer, maybe there was some chance. As it happened though, Satan grew into the worst kind of chuunibyou edgelord case drunk on his power, significance and desires. At this point it was already too little, too late, there was no getting through to him anymore, he doesn't want and is not equipped to understand and appreciate anything and anyone beyond his own egoistical desires which is amply demonstrated in the latest episode.

Tl;dr: everyone dropped the ball hard, not just Yuri, she was in over her head from start to finish and never had any chance to pull off something so monumental alone in the first place.

I don't think it's fair to blame a single character for something cause by a force of nature - because that's exactly what Satan is.
All she's done is to postpone the inevitable by using Satan's "mood swings" (dude switches between loving her and hating her 2 times per episode...) and his affection towards her.
I don't like her because of her naivety and meaningless self-sacrifice but if there's somebody to blame it's the Church. They caused this mess by creating a perfect vessel for Satan (he would be Rinka for god knows how much longer without that body), they mismanaged everything at every step and every their action made things worse.

Blue Night happened when his vessel was already decayed and gone. He essentially went from body to body, burning everything and everybody in his path. There was no stopping him and what Yuri did is essentially pressing a snooze button on a bomb. Nothing more.
There was a small chance he would go away quietly if he was allowed to stay with Yuri till the end. Only a chance because Satan changes his mind 2 times per second so maybe he would go nuts and throw a fit in the last moment... or maybe he would go back to Gehenna... or maybe he'd posses one of his children or look for another vessel - nobody knows.

@Thaeril This right here. All the Senior people made horrible decisions. Just like killing the girl in charge of the child clones, a dozen different ways to handle that outside of murder, but they went right for the worst one they could. And that is only one example of how messed up this whole organization IS/WAS.

I see where you're coming from, but you can't lay all the blame on Yuri. It's not that simplistic. Did she make dumb decisions throughout the season? Yup, sure did. Is it all her fault. Nope, sure isn't. Plus, Shiro had nothing to do with it. Even if Shiro had admitted his feelings, it would not have changed her personality nor stopped her from going in. The truth of the matter is that everything is the organizations fault...completely. They believed they could control demons. That scientist gave Satan all those books about the world with no context because he said he would kill those men w/o out it and what happened? He killed them anyway and became cocky & narcissistic believing himself to be like a god. Problem is in terms of power he was. No one could control him. What might have happened had Yuri no gone in? What type of rampage might he have gone on and how many casualties would there have been? We don't know the true answers but we do know given his personality, many more would have died. And we do know that at the heart of the matter the blame lies on the shoulders of those politicians and scientists that thought they could hold fire in their hands and not get burned.

I think things started to go into wrong direction because humans did not recognize how dangerous satan was and deeded him all those excessive knowledge Like at least for me that was the stupidest part
