Just like the title says... There's someone on Twitter/X that said KonoSuba is on "Production Decision" for a New Anime and Sequels... Any thoughts??

tbh I found out about this on Kudasai in Spanish...

There’s an OVA coming out in late April but aside from that idk if there’s any more that’s confirmed. I would love for there to be more, though.

@jekfrumstotferm At least the post on X was from yesterday and that news on that site talking on "the leak" is from today (Feb 24th)

considering that they are releasing an OVA and it gives them more sales, it's more than likely that they are working on season 4

after all there is a huge demand for Konosuba especially in Japan

I wouldn't get my hopes up if it wasn't from someone that's not reliable. Plus if a 4th season is on its way just remember it took 7 years for a 3rd season. I would rather not have it take that long but I'm not taking anything seriously without official news.

SugoiLite is probably the most reliable leaker on twitter. You can trust what they say. For some proof, they leaked all three of the most recent yuri anime months before they were announced.

I don’t know I’ve heard that there’s an OVA coming out but I haven’t heard anything about a season 4 it would be nice for another season but haven’t heard anything

My bet is season 4 (Volume 8 isn't a good movie base) and Consultation with This Masked Devil anime, what would be great, since it is pretty much the author having fun using his favorites characters and using the ones that didn't have enough screentime, like Luna.

It took 7 years for a 3rd season; but during those seven years, there was an OVA, a movie, and a spin-off—all of which were worth watching, and none of them were filler or original content (in addition to two seasons and a movie of Isekai Quartet). There were also two studio changes, so it’s definitely not like those were years without Konosuba, and it makes a lot of sense that it took that long to produce a third season.

It seems like interest in continuing the series never really died, and considering that the Spin-Off, Season 3, and the upcoming OVA have only had a one-year gap between each release, that still seems to be the case. Additionally, these last three projects have all been handled by the same studio (which currently has only one more announced show, another one airing, and none as popular as Konosuba). So, it seems reasonable to believe that this is their most important project, and therefore, they wouldn’t want to abandon it. Unless they plan to use it as a stepping stone to boost their reputation and get bigger projects, it should be their top priority.

I think it’s only a matter of time before they announce a fourth season, and if it happens, it seems impossible for it to take seven years "again"

At least they have a notion it was successful thanks its staff, and they are trying to keep them instead of just hiring someone else.
