Hi guys, really random but I was debating giving this manga another go.

I've been reading alot of manga in the past year or so, wasn't really a massive manga reader till more recently and enjoying it more then anime these days.

I dropped this manga on chapter 14 like 2-3 years ago, I rememeber it being okay but maybe quite slow.

Did like the mystery and suspence it offered those.

Is it worth giving it another go? I would read it from chapter 1 cause I forgot almost all of it, what makes it so special and what makes you enjoy it so much in your own words?

you should just be patient enough and gather informations till volume 10 (the more you Remember and understand, the bigger the impact of latest arcs Will be). Starting from that, this manga will only get better

Okay thanks for giving me a good point that I can tell narrative will pick up.

yeah ill try to take my time to understand what's going on, I normally use MAL to look up chapters even if I feel confused with what happens in certain chapters.

It's really, really slow. I thought the first 40 chapters where incredibly boring. But the second half of the manga has some amazing plot twists and moments. If you think you can endure the slow start, then I'd recommend reading it

I would definitely recommend it, especially since you like D. Gray Man. It is definitely slow, especially at the beginning. But I think it's a great read. The cast of characters is the strongest part, everyone is connected, everyone grows, everyone is very fleshed out. The mystery aspect is solid too, but the mystery is basically about the characters, and the worldbuilding/lore itself is admittedly quite weirdly developed. The art style of the manga is great, very stylish, the art gets cleaner as the series continues as well. There are some very emotional scenes later on in the series. If you liked the premise but were just turned off by basically nothing happening in the first few volumes, I would urge you to try again. Although the volume count is quite high, I think it reads fairly quickly. Around chapter 30 I think is the point at which I was really invested, but don't quote me on that.

the art style looks absolutely CRISP, definitely well drawn for sure.

based on what you wrote I think I need to just start it again once I finish reading yokohama kaidashi kikou.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking it's slow, the characters were was intresting, so I'm glad to know that, thanks I'll give it another shot :)

Similar experience here, I dropped this back in 2022 around chapter 40-50, restarted it fresh from chapter 1. Although I don’t grant this being a top 5 manga or even a masterpiece I do think its very good for a reason. Cast is very solid, mystery is great, and art style is very smooth. I think around chapter 60 it really picks itself up.

it's a slow burner for sure, but in the end you'll be glad for being the way it is.

I will admit that it was very slow and very confusing until the part where everything starts to get revealed. And I know this might sound like I am exaggerating it but Pandora Hearts was one of the best reads of my life and it is still my favorite manga to this day. So I would definitely recommend it :")

But seriously, you need to be patient and it has some real confusing points. But it really is a good one!

I would say pick it back up, if u were lost then I would suggest watching the first 21 episodes of the anime then go to where the manga left off in the anime. That’s what I basically did bc I was confused but the anime cleared up everything for me.

You definitely should. Pandora Hearts is in my opinion one of the greatest pieces of fiction. It is simply an experience that was planned out to the littlest detail before it even started. And you can tell while reading. This means that every page, every panel, every line is significant. Nothing is put there for no reason, everything has purpose. And to me that is the most perfect way to write a mystery.

Let me tell you this about how it's a bit confusing at the start. You don't have to understand every detail right away. Because by the end most of your questions will be answered. The story is complete and cohesive, leaving no question unanswered. It is a bit difficult to fathom all the information at first. But I believe you'll be satisfied with the experience by the end. And to add onto that, after finishing it, you can wait a couple years and read it again and be amazed by the level of detail and be amazed by how every little thing makes so much more sense with the information you learn later on.

(note : in my opinion it truly starts on chapter 15 before that is just introduction)(Like I said even the introduction and the things that happen in it seem so amazingly well crafted when you see the full picture but it might be a bit boring when you're just starting out)(also don't skip the first 14 because you read it already you will be very very confused)
