This battle is turning into hell with every segment.

Gotta give some credit to Fam though. He carries his mission like a pro and marches forward no matter what's in his way. He's someone Ars can count on to get the job done.

Ars should make Clamant, the captain of the mercenary group, his vassal too, but his price is probably much more expensive than Shadow.

The red hair spear guy is already on my hotlist.

Stark finally makes an appearance.

"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

I love Mireille’s thinking, she’s a great leader. I also like the strategy of Lord Courran to win every fight. Ars must mobilise if he wants to win.

Ars might have it easy for a while but there is non stop action elsewhere.
Pham did a lot of good work in this episode, saving Couran was a big deal.
The Shadows are treated as human beings by Ars, no surprise they wanted to join him.
Kid at the end with the huge axe looks like he could be trouble.

One of my fave episodes! Big fan of the dichotomy between Pham and Thomas in this one. Thomas is bloodthirsty, out for revenge and being used for quite frankly some evil shit by Couran’s brother. Pham on the other hand isn’t being retained to kill innocent people or do nefarious shit, but protect lives and end this conflict.

Their battle was cool, but I got a little emotional seeing Pham think back on how he’s been treated traditionally vs how Ars treats him. He’s not just a “demon” that ars is ashamed of working or being seen with, he’s a valued comrade who Ars really cares for and that bandage scene at the end was so sweet! When you have a guy like Ars who cares about you not as a tool, but as a person it’s hard not to want to serve them. Pham foreshadowed Ars becoming the greatest man in summerforth. I wonder if he’ll go on to become king lol

I agree. The contrast and duality between the two men make this episode one of the better ones in the series.

With all the foreshadowing from various characters, it’s clear Ars is destined for more than just being a king. He’s likely on his way to becoming a "King of Kings"—maybe even an emperor.

Yes, I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt this way.

The strength of this show lies in episodes like this—introducing new members to the MC’s squad and winning them over.

The battle scenes and planning, which were so frequent in earlier episodes, should be reduced as they tend to weaken the overall experience.

Pham is slowly becoming one of my favorite characters. He is very well-rounded and has earned Ar's respect wholeheartedly. I see a lot of great things in his future.

An episode centered around Fam, who has slowly become one of my favorite characters. He managed to foil the ambush on Couran and save him. Fam has always proven himself to be a capable and talented individual, but the only one who saw beyond a simple criminal or assassin from the start was Ars.

Now that Fam is officially part of Ars' entourage, his loyalty makes him an even greater ally. His shadow magic is seriously outclassed, adding another layer of strength to the group. This development not only highlights Fam's growth, but also cements his role as an indispensable member of the team.

I really enjoyed the first season but this season while I am still liking it, it just hasn't been as good as the previous. This episode however has been my favorite as I really like Fam and an entire episode revolving around him and watching him fight was fun to watch.

Nice to have a Pham oriented episode and as his big reward he became Ars' retainer which was a surprise. I wonder if that would mean less money but other benefits like land and a title. Anyway, we got a new character introduced at the end in a strong red-headed guy that will be fighting Rietz based on the preview.

I was originally getting annoyed with Pham showing their face everywhere and stuff and being brought to the forefront, but I'm happy with this. Pham is now officially, no longer unofficially, another retainer of Ars's, and brought their organization who trusts Pham. Pham has lots of Trauma from the actions of their work, but sees Ars as way of being human still moving forward.

WE STILL DON'T HAVE ENGINEER JOINING!!! :<
However looks like next episode, or soon, milkboy will be joining :o
Once Ars gets him and Engineer, him and his retainers could likely beat any Army.

My memory is so bad I forgot about him. Unless I'm mistaken, Ars was gaining Clamant's favor as well so not impossible. However Pham has always been an unofficial retainer, Clamant I don't think has shown such commitment/alliance.

The battle to claim Castle Rolto was a very difficult, but hard-fought one. Too bad that Shadow Pham is really worked to the bone to spread intel on the fly, much less having her pay docked not to what is promised.

Couran's supply corps being accosted by Thomas and Canses Vandol in Verzud, Castle Staatz is just waiting for the weather to change. And with half of the provisions and aqua magia gone, the plan to save Couran being in the most lilkely ambush station, him knowing that it's Thomas who orchestrated this, Pham still needs to ensure his safety out of enemy lines before facing Thomas himself.

At least for the time being, ensuring Couran's escape is tantamount so that he can prepare for the next attack, leaving Ars to deal with the sanity of the large reward to be dealt from his end. And Pham wagering that the Shadow Company be kept as retainers in Ars's camp, he is more than eager to have them around.

The trouble with the red-haired young man will be the next challenge coming up.

Am I the only one that found it stupid that they couldn’t send Couran a message to warn him and sent Shadow to save him, but then after they save him, Couran was able to send a message BACK thanking Ars for sending Shadow to save him?
